Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Brooklyn Nets ($10,200) โ This isn’t about basketball. SGA is an MVP front runner. This pick is all about DFS. Will Gilgeous-Alexander pay off his salary? The matchup is good but too good. The Nets are notorious. They’re so bad that they don’t even appear to be intentionally tanking. They run a G-League lineup. They run a regular rotation. There’s not much difference. SGA can race to 50 FPTS in under three quarters but will 30 minutes be enough?
Other Options โ Austin Reaves ($8,100)
Value
Cason Wallace, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Brooklyn Nets ($4,300) โ The Thunder are in a familiar place. Oklahoma City was a 16-point favorite at Washington last Sunday. The Thunder won by 41 points. They’re favored by 16.5 points at home against the Nets. Wallace scored 29 fantasy points in the Wizards blowout. He scored 32.75 FPTS in the next game (a double-digit win over the 76ers). He topped 30 FPTS again in Friday’s loss to the Mavs.
Other Options โ Kevin Huerter ($3,600)

LeBron James, Los Angeles Lakers at Los Angeles Clippers ($9,600) โ It’s time to take a stroll down Narrative Street. Sometimes stats don’t matter. This pick isn’t just Narrative Street. It’s the streets โ the streets of L.A. There are bigger things than sports but tonight sports mean more than sports. Los Angeles’ two professional teams are going to play basketball. It’s just a game but this in an important escape for a city of California Wildfire victims. No one expects The King to throw on a cape tonight. He’s not a firefighter but he can be a hero. He can bring some joy back to the city with a legendary performance against his So-Cal rivals.
Other Options โ Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,600)
Value
Jabari Walker, Portland Trail Blazers vs. Chicago Bulls ($3,000) โ It doesn’t get any cheaper than this. Walker has played 20 minutes in back-to-back games. He’s played pretty well โ 17 and 17.75 FPTS. The Blazers have not played well. They’re tanking. The Bulls are 5.5-point favorites in Portland. This seems too generous to the Blazers. Deandre Ayton ($5,900) sat out the first leg of the back-to-back on Saturday. He could suit up but it won’t matter. He’s not playing well. First-round pick Donovan Clingan is out. Robert Williams ($3,100) will get some run, but he just returned from injury and it’s a back-to-back. Walker seems safe in the tank space.
Other Options โ Keegan Murray ($5,100)

Domantas Sabonis, Sacramento Kings vs. Washington Wizards ($9,900) โ Next to the word efficiency in the dictionary is a picture of Domantas Sabonis. The Mantas Machine doesn’t take a lot of shots or free throws, but he easily scores over 20 points per game. He regularly pulls down 15 to 20 rebounds and flirts with double-digit assists every night. If not for Nikola Jokic, Sabonis would be in the conversation for the best player in the NBA.
Other Options โ Anthony Davis ($10,500)
Value
Jalen Smith, Chicago Bulls at Portland Trail Blazers ($3,300) โ This is risky and possibly unnecessary. That’s fine. Throw Smith’s name in the hat. “Stix” rarely impacts games or DFS contests. He did on Jan. 10. The Bulls beat the Wizards 138-105. If the Blazers are tanking and taking the double-digit beatdown, then Smith will get enough work. Smith scored 32 FPTS in 17 minutes in the Wizards blowout.
Other Options โ Jaylin Williams ($4,000)
