Last season, Hoge played in 30 events. Although he did not win any tournaments, he finished top-10 four times and made 24 cuts. In the first tournament of the new year, Hoge has gotten off to a good start, as he shot a nine-under 64 in the first round of The Sentry and leads the field by one stroke.
On the front nine, Hoge drained six birdies with a three-hole streak on Holes 3, 4 and 5. The only blemish of the round was a bogey on Hole 6. On the back nine, Hoge notched three birdies.
In the $500K Pitch + Putt tournament, Hoge is rostered on only 4.8% of teams.
DK Sportsbook has him at +1200 to win it all, the fourth-lowest odds.
Collin Morikawa is rostered on 30.4% of teams and is currently the odds-on favorite to win it all at +400.
During Thursday’s first round, Morikawa shot a seven-under 66 and is two shots off the lead.
It was a blemish-free round of golf for Morikawa, who had three birdies on the front nine and a four-birdie streak on Holes 12, 13, 14 and 15 on the back nine.
