The Atlanta Falcons picked up an ugly win over the New York Jets in Week 13. The Jets benched Tim Boyle in the fourth quarter and ended up going with Trevor Siemian. With the loss, there is no telling who will be under center in Week 14 when they take on the Houston Texans.
Atlanta improves to 6-6 on the season and now sits in sole possession of first place in the NFC South. This has them officially locked into the No. 4 seed in the NFC playoff picture. They can’t drop lower than No. 4 as a division leader, but no matter what happens the rest of the week, Atlanta will have the worst record among division leaders.
New York falls to 4-8 and remains in third place in the AFC East. At the moment, they are the No. 15 seed out of 16 possible teams in the AFC playoff picture. They could move up if the Tennessee Titans lose in overtime, but they would move up one spot.
Atlanta will welcome the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to town next week, while New York will take on the surging Houston Texans at home.
