Tucker Kraft ($5,800)
Is Tucker Kraft ever going to be valued appropriately? The 24-year-old has emerged as Green Bay’s starting tight end and has been one of the steadiest pass-catching options on the team. Kraft is an above-average athlete, but his 6-foot-5 frame and ability after the catch are what make him so impressive. His wiggle out of routes is remarkable for a man his size and gets him consistent separation. He pairs that with his mastery of bouncing off tacklers and fighting for extra yards, which makes him a defensive back’s worst nightmare.
Kraft uses his stature well in the red zone, finding the end zone seven times this campaign, including twice in the last three weeks. On a team third in the league in drops, Kraft is a fairly reliable pair of hands who can do damage in the flat or over the middle. Seattle’s defensive analytics are propped up by early-season matchups against horrific quarterbacks, but they are a mediocre unit that is shaky on the back end. If Kraft can continue to be a threat near the goal line, I’ll continue to trust his body of work over others on the team.
Tyler Lockett ($4,000)
It’s hard to make a case for Tyler Lockett based on his disastrous recent outings, but at some point, former stars always have one last moment on primetime before hanging it up. Lockett is one of the most underrated receivers of the last decade — a premier route-runner who used elite footwork and bursts of quickness to do damage. In his prime, he was almost impossible to stay in front of and a stud in the slot.
Lockett has lost a few steps and offers nothing after getting a snag, often falling in a heap to avoid even taking a textbook tackle. He can no longer shake corners off the line and tends to be lost next to his pair of much more talented playmakers. Lockett is still seeing the field at a decent clip — he just isn’t producing. Against a familiar foe in a game his squad desperately needs, I like Lockett to turn back the clock and have a serviceable showing.
