Ricky Pearsall ($4,800)
Ricky Pearsall continues to be a staple of this series because of his price tag and first-round talent, but the nonexistent production is starting to be worrisome. The rookie undoubtedly experienced a lot of hardship in the off-season, getting shot in one shoulder and dealing with a nagging injury in the other. He missed the bulk of camp and was unable to harness his skills in any preseason action. It’s understandable that it would take some time for him to get going, but he’s been invisible on the field.
After snagging four catches for 73 yards in a score against Tampa Bay in Week 10, Pearsall has failed to make an impact in an injury-riddled receiver core. In his last four outings, the University of Florida product has just one reception for five yards. He’s been second or third on the depth chart throughout that stretch while playing at least 49% of offensive snaps. The opportunities are there, but Pearsall still needs to execute.
He draws a matchup with a Los Angeles secondary that’s 21st in EPA against the pass. If Pearsall can’t make some noise in this must-win spot, it might be time to punt on his DFS relevance and re-evaluate in the off-season.
Blake Corum ($3,200)
Los Angeles has a potential gem in Blake Corum. The vicious runner was a superstar at Michigan and the centerpiece of an offense that won the National Championship last year. At 5-foot-8, he’s a compact bruiser who makes up for a lack of breakaway speed with his ability to bulldoze defenders.
He’s been the Rams’ distant RB2 throughout the campaign but is starting to garner some positive traction. Corum has mustered eight carries in each of his last two outings and is playing around one-third of possible snaps. It’s an encouraging enough trend that should make fantasy managers hopeful that Corum can get some goal line work to punch in his first NFL touchdown.
