Wide Receiver Start ’Em, Sit ’Em Week 14 Fantasy Football Picks

Updated:

By: Jeff Pratt

Week 14 of the NFL season has arrived! Injuries have thrown a wrench into multiple receiving corps around the league, so it’s time to take a deep dive into the position with the fantasy playoffs one week away for most leagues..

Let’s break down my Week 14 start ’em, sit ’em fantasy football wide receiver picks.

Start ‘Em: Jakobi Meyers (Raiders) at Buccaneers

No consistency at quarterback? No problem for Jakobi Meyers.

The versatile slot receiver thrived as the No. 2 to Davante Adams last year, and now he’s doing the same following the addition of Brock Bowers in Vegas. Meyers has scored at least 15 PPR points in four of his last five outings, seeing a whopping 26 targets over the Raiders’ last two contests, hauling in 16 of them for 218 yards. It doesn’t matter if you find the end zone with those numbers.

I expect Meyers to remain heavily involved against the Buccaneers, who allow the sixth-most fantasy points to receivers.

Sit ‘Em: Garrett Wilson (Jets) at Dolphins

I don’t think many people expected Aaron Rodgers to struggle this mightily in the 2024 campaign, but here we are. We’ve officially reached the point where the 41-year-old is actively hurting the fantasy value of all those around him.

Unfortunately, that starts with Wilson, who has failed to score double-digit points in three straight outings. Wilson’s target share has remained relatively high, but the quality of those targets has not. As tough as it is to bench him, I would recommend it against a Dolphins secondary that allows the second-fewest fantasy points to receivers.

Start ‘Em: DJ Moore (Bears) at 49ers

Moore was my start of the week at receiver last time around, and I’m going right back to him.

Is that allowed? I’m gonna say it’s allowed.

After an immensely frustrating middle of the fantasy campaign, Moore has flipped a switch of the last two weeks, recording at least 23 points in both games. He saw a whopping 16 targets against the Lions on Thanksgiving, reestablishing himself as the clear No. 1 option for Caleb Williams. Ride the hot hand this week and fire DJM up as a high-end WR2.

Sit ‘Em: Brian Thomas Jr. (Jaguars) at Titans

The man has Mac Jones as his quarterback for the forseeable future. Need I say more?

(Sorry Mac, it’s nothing personal).

Thomas actually put up 18.7 PPR points against the Texans, but that was thanks to a very late touchdown. The unfortunate reality for everyone in Jacksonville’s offense is that they are going to struggle to move the ball. Thomas is an undeniably talented player, but he should be left on your bench against the Titans, who allow the seventh-fewest fantasy point to receivers.
