The New Orleans Pelicans have had a rough start to this season. They are 4-17 and have the worst record in the Western Conference. The Pelicans have won one of their previous 15 games. Tonight, they face the Atlanta Hawks for the second time this season.
The Hawks beat the Pelicans 126-111 in their first matchup on November 3. One of the Pelicans’ best players, Dejounte Murray, has missed 17 games this season due to a hand injury. Here is my favorite prop bet for Dejounte Murray against the Hawks tonight.
Dejounte Murray over 5.5 Rebounds (-115)
Murray has only played four games this season. Most recently, he finished with 10 points, eight rebounds, and five assists against the New York Knicks on Sunday. He has only scored over 15 points once this season. The most consistent part of Murray’s game has been rebounding the ball.
He has recorded at least six rebounds in three of the four games and eight boards in two. Throughout his NBA career, he has been an above-average rebounder for a guard. It will take Murray longer to become comfortable in the Pelicans’ offense, so it is wise to back his over in rebounds. Murray’s over of 5.5 rebounds is set at -115 on DraftKings Sportsbook against the Hawks.
Murray averaged 22.5 points, 6.4 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game in 2023-24 as a member of the Hawks. He spent two seasons in Atlanta after beginning his NBA career in San Antonio. Tonight will be the first time Murray will face off against his former team. Dating back to the last preseason game, Murrary has had over 5.5 boards in four of the previous five games.
