Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole will miss Tuesday night’s game against the Chicago Bulls with left hip flexor soreness, marking his second consecutive absence from head coach Brian Keefe’s lineup.
With Poole sidelined, guard Bub Carrington represents an excellent value play in DFS lineups.

After a disappointing first campaign in Washington, Poole has regained some of the form that inspired the Golden State Warriors to sign him to a four-year, $140 million extension in 2022. So far this season, Poole has been the Wizards’ leading scorer, averaging 21.2 points per game and shooting a blistering 44.3 percent from beyond the arc. His strong all-around performance has allowed him to reward DFS players with 36.1 fantasy points per game.
The primary beneficiary could be Bub Carrington. The 14th overall pick in the 2024 Draft, the six-foot-four Pitt product has been a bright spot in a dismal Wizards season, averaging 9.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game in his rookie campaign. Carrington has started 12 of 15 games this season alongside Poole, although his minutes have dipped since veteran Malcolm Brogdon’s return from injury.
Given his two-way impact — he also notches 1.2 steals per game — I like Carrington as a strong value play for Tuesday night’s contest. His cheap salary provides for high upside and allows players to spend more in other positions. Costing $600 less and producing six fantasy points more than his teammate Brogdon, choosing him as a Poole replacement is an easy decision.
Carrington’s fantasy prospects are especially high tonight given that the Bulls defense has allowed 123.9 points per game, the worst mark in basketball.
