Travis Scott has become, arguably, the biggest sneaker influencer in the game. After a series of Jordan retro models, Cactus Jack is finally jumping off the top rope with his own signature model, the Jumpman Jack, on Tuesday for $200.

As noted, Scott is one of, if not THE, biggest sneaker influencer in the game right now. Part of that hype has come from what was originally a very unique take on the Air Jordan 1 which quickly became Scott’s signature design element — the backwards Swoosh. Scott’s Air Jordan 1 “Mocha” is a defining model for this sneaker generation and one of the most identifiable and coveted sneakers of all time. Scott has built his sneaker reputation on a series of colorways of some of the most famous retro Jordan models of all-time — the Air Jordan 4, the Air Jordan 6 and of course a phalanx of colorways of the Air Jordan 1, both high and low.
But, those were all retro models that had already been popular for decades. Now we will get the answer to an important question: Is Scott’s influence strong enough to carry a brand-new model at a time when the sneaker game is down and new models struggle to breakthrough?
This first colorway of the Jumpman Jack is perhaps most reminiscent of Scott’s Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG “Reverse Mocha.” Designed to what SNKRS describes as “the exact specifications and signature style of Travis Scott,” the Jumpman Jack features an upper featuring sail leather and brown canvas. Of course, we have the reverse Swoosh, done up in a Sail nubuck. Another notable design element is the strap toward the bottom of the lace system, which features Travis Scott branding. Cactus Jack branding can also be seen on the back heel of the sneaker in red, as well as what SNKRS calls a “wear-away ‘Jack’” graphic on the outsole. All in all, SNKRS says the shoe is “built for handling the raging rigors of Travis’ nonstop lifestyle as an elite performance athlete—delivering traction, comfort and confidence when embracing day-to-day extremes.”
To be honest, without the ties to Scott, I’m personally not sure how well this model would sell. That being said, it does have Scott’s imprint and thus should be an easy sellout. The Jumpman Jack currently has an average sale price of $884 on StockX on 776 sales, which represents a 245% price premium with just 7% volatility. So who cares what I think, it’s clear that this debut signature model will be a home run for Cactus Jack and his legion of supporters.
So if you’re looking to get pair and haven’t succeeded at any of the early raffles thus far, be ready at 10 a.m. ET sharp on Tuesday and cross your fingers. Best of luck to all looking to pick up a pair!
