The Jets look to turn their fortunes around when they face off with the Texans on a Halloween edition of Thursday Night Football.

Joe Mixon ($16,500)
When veteran backs find a new home late in their career, it tends not to work out too well. After seven years in Cincinnati, Joe Mixon took his talents to Houston and is amidst a career revival. Throughout his tenure in orange and black, Mixon was an inefficient bell cow who only had one efficient year on the ground. In his first campaign with the Texans, the 28-year-old is averaging just a hair under five yards a carry with six total touchdowns.
The club has a shaky offensive line at best, which has been intact but not played at an elite level. Mixon is hitting the hole with an excellent burst and has done an impressive job cutting upfield when lanes are clogged. His swagger has been infectious and warranted—rushing over the century mark in four of his five outings.
Mixon will get over 20 touches with the injuries at pass catcher, and the Jets defense has taken a step back since the departure of Robert Saleh at the controls. If he can return to consistently finding the endzone, he’s a must-have DFS option.
Breece Hall ($15,600)
The Breece Hall stock chart would resemble a toddler trying to draw a mountain range—lots of peaks and valleys with no idea what could come next if the image continued. Every time there’s consistency in either direction, there’s an unexpected change. On 111 carries, Hall is averaging just 3.9 yards a pop, a steep decline from his previous two seasons. The offensive line is a smidge better than past iterations, but the Iowa State product has failed to live up to his potential superstar billing.
Hall has broken just four tackles this year, fewer than guys like Antonio Gibson and Jaleel McLaughlin, who have a fraction of his workload. He’s also struggled after contact, which doesn’t bode well for his “physical runner” moniker. He deserves blame for his substandard performance, but generic game plans are just as much to blame.
New York’s postseason dreams are essentially dead, but a loss on Thursday and falling to 2-7 would feel like a seismic event. The only way to turn the ship around is by putting the ball in your best weapon’s hand and letting him go to work. Hall had a decent showing against New England, but the team failed to capitalize on his early momentum. I expect the staff to rectify that issue and feed Hall right out of the gate.
Garrett Wilson ($14,400)
Garrett Wilson is still the Jets‘ top receiver. He’s still getting a bulk of the target share and having moments of brilliance—it’s just far too inconsistent. The former 10th overall pick is as smooth as they come in and out of breaks, creating plenty of separation. The hands have betrayed him at points but are still reliable enough for some chunk plays.
New York wants to air it out, and Wilson will continue to have the best chance to go nuclear. He’s struggled to find paydirt since turning pro, but New York has started to pass significantly more near the goal line. He’s due for a boost in scoring luck, and against a middling Houston secondary, the opportunity for a massive night is too great to ignore.
