Late in the fourth quarter, Stefon Diggs appeared to suffer a non-contact lower-body injury on an in-route cut. He fell to the ground, was immediately seen to by the Texans medical staff, and helped to the sideline.
His stay in the blue medical tent was a brief one. Trainers immediately took him to the sideline.
With Diggs sidelined, expect Tank Dell and Dalton Schultz to see an increase in this Houston passing game. Nico Collins (hamstring) is already on IR, so C.J. Stroud’s options are running thin.
Through his first seven games in 2024, Diggs has 42 receptions on 55 targets for a total of 415 receiving yards. He has scored three receiving touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. That average of 9.9 yards per catch is vintage Diggs, just when people thought he might have lost a step in Buffalo.
He’s thriving in Houston, however, and has looked as good as ever. We’ll hope this injury isn’t as concerning as non-contact ones usually are.
