NFL Week 8 Confidence Picks
High Confidence
Lions over Titans – The Lions’ offense is on fire at the moment. They just picked up a big win over the Vikings and now they face a Titans team that is in free fall. They are on to their backup QB and traded LB Ernest Jones and WR DeAndre Hopkins. The Lions should be able to comfortably win this game with just a decent offensive performance.
Chiefs over Raiders – The Chiefs are undefeated and their schedule shapes up for them to keep winning. The Raiders are depleted on offensive weapons and things are starting to take a turn for the worse under Antonio Pierce. The Chiefs just added DeAndre Hopkins to help bolster their offense and it should have an immediate positive effect.
Jets over Patriots – The Jets are on a run of losses but this is the game they need to get back on track. The Jets’ best performance of the season was in their first matchup with the Patriots this season. Aaron Rodgers played nearly flawless football against the Patriots last time and the Jets defense completely shut down the Patriots. The Jets are getting healthier in the secondary with DJ Reed and Michael Carter both potentially returning this week and they should pick up a win here.
Chargers over Saints – Justin Herbert played great last week despite the Chargers’ loss to the Cardinals. He should have had enough to beat this Saints team, which is in a really bad place. Spencer Rattler is expected to start another game and the offense has really struggled with their offensive weapons banged up and a backup QB at the helm. The defense has been even worse for the Saints and the Chargers should be the better team.
Ravens over Browns – The Ravens are on fire at the moment. Since starting 0-2, they have won five games in a row. The Browns are starting Jameis Winston at quarterback which could provide them a bit of a spark but against the Ravens, they will struggle to move the ball no matter who plays quarterback. Lamar Jackson should be able to avoid the Browns’ pass rush and hit some big plays down the field.
Broncos over Panthers – The Panthers are going back to Bryce Young at quarterback this week and he has been historically bad when he plays. The Broncos have a very good defense and they should completely shut the Panthers down. If Bo Nix can avoid making mistakes, this should be a comfortable win for the Broncos.
Medium Confidence
Texans over Colts – The Texans dropped a game to the Packers last week so they should be focused on getting back on track in this game. The Colts offense has had a lot of struggles lately and the Texans should be able to outscore them. The Texans put up 29 points on the road in their first game against the Colts so they should be set for another great offensive performance at home in this game.
Packers over Jaguars – The Packers have one of the best offenses in the NFL at the moment. After two weeks in London, the Jaguars could hit a bit of a lul in this game. Green Bay should have too much offense for Jacksonville to keep up with.
Steelers over Giants – The Giants are in a really bad spot offensively and they will be without their star LT Andrew Thomas for the rest of the year. The Steelers’ pass rush should be all over Daniel Jones and force some mistakes out of him. Russell Wilson played really well last week in his first start and the Steelers should find a way to win this game.
Vikings over Rams – The Rams are getting some of their offensive weapons back this week but the defense is the real problem for Los Angeles. The Vikings should be able to rack up a lot of offense on the ground and through the air against Los Angeles. The Rams’ offense should be better with Cooper Kupp but they will be a bit rusty and will struggle to keep up with the Vikings.
Dolphins over Cardinals – The Dolphins are likely getting Tua Tagovailoa back this week and their offense should dramatically improve. The Cardinals did a great job of picking up a win last week against the Chargers but they were lucky that Los Angeles settled for a lot of field goals. The Cardinals have a lot of issues on both sides of the ball and the Dolphins should find a way to win.
Bears over Commanders – The Bears are taking on the Commanders in a battle of the top two drafted quarterbacks in 2024. Both quarterbacks are playing well at the moment but the Bears are the better team on the defensive side of the ball. That should be the difference that leads to Caleb Williams coming out on top.
Coin-Flip Games
Bengals over Eagles – The Bengals are putting together a win streak and they could really get their season back on track with another win in this game. The Bengals’ offense should continue to fire on all cylinders and put up a good number. The Eagles dominated the Giants last week but overall, their offense has a lot of issues and the Bengals should come out on top here.
Falcons over Bucs – The Bucs’ offense is really banged up with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin both out. The Falcons’ offense has been playing well the past few weeks and they should be able to outscore the Bucs in this game.
Bills over Seahawks – The Seahawks have a dangerous offense that could put up some points on Buffalo. However, the Bills’ offense is on fire. Josh Allen is arguably the best quarterback in the league this season and they should have too much firepower for Seattle.
Cowboys over 49ers – There is an upset brewing in San Francisco. The 49ers are in a bad spot and their offense is completely depleted of weapons. The Cowboys are coming off a bye and should have their best possible game plan heading into this game. If Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb can rack up a couple of big plays than the Cowboys could easily win this game against a puttering 49ers offense.
