The Packers have shown multiple different looks to their offense this season, and on Sunday against the Vikings, Tucker Kraft ($3,500) came through with the biggest fantasy performance of any tight end in Week 4. Can Kraft continue to be a fantasy factor moving forward? Can he solve your fantasy football team’s need at tight end? Let’s take a look at his outlook moving forward.
Kraft showed his ability to make plays after the catch throughout the day on Sunday, including on this touchdown catch in the fourth quarter:
He finished with six catches on nine targets and racked up 53 yards alongside his touchdown. He followed up that score by snagging the two-point conversion as well. Late in the game, Kraft had a costly fumble, but his heavy usage is still a great sign going forward.
While Kraft has been playing ahead of Luke Musgrave ($2,700) all season, he had only drawn eight total targets in the first three games of 2024 before getting nine looks in Week 4.
Part of that increase was due to the game script as the Packers rallied from behind. Another part was also due to the return of Jordan Love ($6,500), who enabled the Packers to throw the ball more and be more aggressive on offense. WR Christian Watson (ankle) was also forced to leave the game with a high ankle sprain. His absence should open up more looks for Kraft going forward.
Kraft is just outside my top 10 TE for Week 5 (literally at No. 11 or No. 12), but he could definitely climb into my top 10 on a regular basis with a strong showing this week against the Rams, who rank in the top 10 of most fantasy points allowed to the position this season.
If you are in need of a tight end due to injury or bye weeks, Kraft is a great option to stash on your bench this week. If you need an emergency starter, he’s in a good spot with a high ceiling against the Rams.
The Packers are 3.5-point road favorites this week with the over/under set at 48. After their 2-2 start, Kraft’s Packers are +115 to make the playoffs and +1200 to win the NFC.
