Falcons TE Kyle Pitts (hamstring) full participant at Thursday’s practice

UPDATE: Falcons Nation received good news on Thursday, as their star tight end was a full participant during Thurday’s practice.

There’s still one more practice left in the week, but it looks promising that he’ll be good to for Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Falcons will need all their offensive weapons, as the Steelers were seventh in points allowed last season and Donte Jackson, who is one of the best cornerbacks in the league, will likely make things difficult for Drake London ($6,000). – Stan Son

SEPTEMBER 4: Kyle Pitts is dealing a hamstring injury and will be limited at practice Wednesday. However, when asked if there was any concern about Pitts’ injury, Raheem Morris said “not for me.”

Morris’ positive comments are surely an encouraging sign and hopefully Pitts doesn’t carry a designation for this Sunday’s matchup vs. the Steelers and he won’t see any limitations in that contest. With Kirk Cousins now Pitts’ quarterback, who is by far the best passer the tight end has ever played with, there are high hopes for Pitts and the entire Falcons’ offense this season. In the eight games Cousins played for the Vikings last season, he targeted his tight end in T.J. Hockenson 22.2% of the time and Pitts will likely see similar usage with Cousins this season.

Selected with the fourth-overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, Pitts was the highest tight end ever drafted after a stellar career at Florida. Having a strong passer like Cousins should translate into great numbers for Pitts. Hamstring injuries are always concerning, but if Pitts heads into Week 1 without a designation, he will be an appealing target at his reasonable salary of $4,600. The Steelers allowed the sixth-most touchdowns to tight ends last season (seven) and this hamstring ailment could depress Pitts’ ownership in GPPs. On the DraftKings Sportsbook, the Falcons are 3.5-point favorites over Pittsburgh this Sunday.
