New York Mets get crucial 7-2 victory over spiraling Red Sox

The Mets are peaking at the right time. Despite a treacherous start to their campaign, New York has figured it out and is creeping up on the coveted third NL Wild Card spot.

Tuesday night was all about David Peterson ($8,000; 29.3 FPTS). The 29-year-old had one of the best outings of his career, fanning eleven across six innings while only surrendering one earned run. The lefty relied on his wicked fastball that Boston hitters simply couldn’t figure out.

Francisco Lindor ($5,700; 30 FPTS) continues to make a late MVP case, launching his 30th homer of the year deep to right field. It’s a historic blast for Lindor, who trails only Alex Rodriguez for most 30-homer seasons as a shortstop.

At the bottom of the eighth, Pete Alonso ($5,100; 19 FPTS) put the game out of reach with a monster shot to the dead-away center.

The Red Sox got a tremendous effort from starter Kutter Crawford ($7,500; 23.7 FPTS). He also went six frames, punched out eight, and was only charged for two earned runs.

The Mets go for their seventh straight game and series win tomorrow in Queens, where they open as a slight -108 underdog.

The Massachusetts native was commenting on his sports video games by the time he could tie his shoes and fantasized about turning his favorite hobby into his future career. He might not have grown tall enough to be an elite stretch-five who could rock the rim, but this content-creating thing is a decent second option.
