Best NHL Player Props for October 30

Brandon Montour 1+ Point (+120)

Seattle has already beaten Calgary 6-1 twice this season, and Montour picked up two assists in the second meeting on Oct. 4. He enters Friday night riding a four-game point streak with five points during that run, and he has recorded a point in seven of his past 10 games. Montour has 10 points through 12 outings, while averaging 24 minutes of ice time on the second pair with Ryker Evans, and the Kraken have outscored opponents 14-8 across 192 minutes with that pairing on the ice at 5v5. He also plays on Seattle’s second power-play unit.

Calgary has allowed 3.75 goals per game, the third-most in the NHL, behind an .877 team SV%. With Devin Cooley listed as day-to-day, Dustin Wolf projects to start for the Flames, and he allowed six goals in both of his starts against Seattle this season. The Kraken have scored 3.69 goals per game, the fifth-most in the league.

Seth Jones 3+ Shots on Goal (+125)

Winnipeg is on the second night of a back-to-back after Thursday night’s 6-4 loss in Tampa Bay, and it has allowed 28.9 shots per game, the ninth-most in the NHL. The Jets have been especially generous to defensemen, giving up 8.1 shots on goal per game to the position, the sixth-most in the league. Florida beat Winnipeg 5-1 on Tuesday, and Jones finished that game with three shots and three assists.

Jones has put at least three shots on goal in seven of his past 10 outings, averaging 2.9 shots per game over that stretch, and his 36 total shots rank third on the Panthers. He averages 24:54 of ice time on the second pair with Niko Mikkola and plays on Florida’s top power-play unit. Jones also has 14 assists through 13 games, and his 15 points are tied with Brady Tkachuk for second on the team behind Matthew Tkachuk.

Jack Hughes 1+ Assist (+105)

Hughes has recorded an assist in seven of his past 10 games, and his 10 assists and six primary assists both lead the Devils. He’s also first on the team in points (14) and xGoals (7.3), and New Jersey has controlled 69.0% of the xGoals with him on the ice, which ranks 15th among skaters with at least 100 minutes of ice time. Hughes centers the second line between Jesper Bratt and Arseny Gritsyuk, a trio that has controlled 68.1% of the 5v5 xGoals and outscored opponents 5-3 in 98 minutes, and he plays on the first power-play unit.

Vegas has allowed just 2.79 goals per game, the seventh-fewest in the NHL, so it’ll be a tough matchup. However, New Jersey ranks second in the league in both 5v5 xGoals share (58.8%) and 5v5 Corsi% (57.3%), and Hughes had a goal and an assist in Tuesday’s 5-1 win in Dallas. Adin Hill projects to start for the Golden Knights with an .895 SV% and 2.63 GAA.
