Best NHL Anytime Goal Scorer Picks for October 30
Sam Reinhart Anytime Goal Scorer (+160)
Winnipeg is playing for the second straight night after losing 6-4 on Thursday night in Tampa Bay, and Nico Daws projects to start in goal for the Jets. Daws stopped all nine shots he faced in relief on Thursday, but he went 2-2-0 with an .872 SV% in four starts for New Jersey before the trade that sent him to Winnipeg. The Jets have also allowed 3.35 xGoals against per 60, tied for the ninth-most in the NHL.
Reinhart has done most of his damage on the man advantage, scoring five of his six goals on the power play, and Winnipeg’s penalty kill ranks 23rd at 73.5%. One of those power-play goals came against the Jets in Florida’s 5-1 win on Tuesday. His 6.9 xGoals lead the Panthers, and his 1.57 xGoals per 60 rank tied for 12th among skaters with at least 100 minutes of ice time. Reinhart averages 20:12 of ice time and plays on Florida’s top power-play unit.
Jordan Eberle Anytime Goal Scorer (+225)
Eberle scored in both of Seattle’s 6-1 wins over Calgary earlier this month, including a power-play goal on Oct. 1. Dustin Wolf was in net for both of those games, and he projects to start again with Devin Cooley listed as day-to-day. Wolf is 1-4-0 with an .839 SV% and 4.81 GAA, and his -8.6 GSAx and -2.58% SV% above expected rank 70th and 67th, respectively, among the 71 goalies who have played this season.
His 4.6 xGoals are tied with the injured Jared McCann for the Kraken lead, and his 31 shots on goal rank second on the team behind Bobby McMann. Eberle has turned those chances into four goals through 13 games, so there’s room for his finishing to catch up at a +225 price. He skates on Seattle’s top line with McMann and Matty Beniers and plays on the first power-play unit.
Nico Hischier Anytime Goal Scorer (+195)
Hischier has scored four of his team-leading seven goals on the power play, which lines up well against a Vegas penalty kill that ranks T-26th at 67.6%. He scored twice in Tuesday’s 5-1 win in Dallas and has found the net in five of his past 10 outings. His 1.50 xGoals per 60 rank 20th among skaters with at least 100 minutes of ice time, and the Evangelista-Hischier-Meier line has controlled 59.5% of the 5v5 xGoals while outscoring opponents 5-2 in 101 minutes.
Adin Hill is the expected starter tonight for the Golden Knights after going 5-1-0 with an .895 SV% and 2.63 GAA. He has been up and down lately, giving up six goals on 31 shots in St. Louis on Oct. 22 before stopping 25 of 26 against Ottawa on Tuesday. Vegas allows just 25.1 shots per game, tied for the sixth-fewest in the NHL, but +195 is still a fair price for New Jersey’s leading goal scorer.
