Best NHL Player Props for October 28

Connor McDavid 2+ Assists (+170)

McDavid leads the NHL with 26 assists through 12 games, 10 more than anyone else in the league, and his 34 points also top the league. He has recorded multiple assists in eight of his 12 outings, including six of his past 10.

Tonight’s setup is ideal for McDavid and the Oilers on home ice. McDavid averages 23:52 of ice time, centers Edmonton’s top line with Leon Draisaitl and Vasily Podkolzin and runs its top power-play unit for an Oilers power play that leads the NHL at 35.0%. He already has 12 power-play points, and the Oilers lead the league at 4.25 goals per game, while Calgary has allowed 3.73 goals per game, the second-most in the NHL. Devin Cooley is projected to start for the Flames and has been solid with a .915 SV%, but McDavid has posted multi-assist games against seven different opponents this season.

William Nylander 3+ Shots on Goal (-135)

Nylander has scored in back-to-back games and enters Wednesday riding a five-game point streak. He has recorded at least three shots in each of his past two outings and seven of his past 10, averaging 3.2 shots per game over that stretch. Nylander leads the Maple Leafs with 41 shots through 14 games, averages just under 20 minutes of ice time and skates on Toronto’s first power-play unit.

Seattle has allowed 31.8 shots per game, the second-most in the NHL, while ranking 31st in 5v5 Corsi% at 41.7%. The Kraken have also controlled only 43.3% of the expected goals at 5v5, so I’d expect Toronto to spend plenty of time in the offensive zone. This situation should give Nylander enough volume to clear this number for the eighth time in 11 outings.
