We’re into Week 8 of the college football season as the conference slates roll on. Early on Saturday, the No. 6 Indiana Hoosiers look to rebound from last week’s loss as they head to Ann Arbor to take on the Michigan Wolverines.

Indiana vs. Michigan player props
Josh Hoover 2+ passing touchdowns (-134)
The Hoosiers are very clearly the superior team in this matchup, even if their prolific winning streak was snapped last week by Ohio State. To their credit, the Buckeyes were a worthy opponent and are far better than the Wolverines, who face an uphill battle against one of the top teams in the nation. The good news for Michigan is that the defense has been very impressive, allowing just 16.2 PPG to opponents and 166.8 passing yards per game. It’s tough to attack this group in any which way, and possessions are few and far between as well given the nature of how Kyle Whittingham runs his offense. However, Josh Hoover should still toss multiple touchdowns for Indiana in this spot. In seven games, he has 18 passing touchdowns for an average of 2.57 per contest. The TCU transfer has also thrown multiple touchdown passes in five of his seven appearances for the Hoosiers, with the lone exceptions last week’s Ohio State game and a win over Northwestern a few weeks ago. Indiana should still win this game in hand even though the per-game stats from Michigan’s defense look good, and beyond that, the passing attack has accounted for 20 touchdowns while the ground game has racked up just 12. I like Hoover to connect on two scoring strikes.
Nick Marsh 5+ receptions (-127)
I typically like to take a prop from each team in these articles, but it’s very tough to tell what Michigan’s offense will do here. Tommy Carr now takes over as the starting quarterback, but he faces an incredibly stingy Indiana defense that also isn’t likely to give up much on the ground. With that in mind, I’m looking back toward the Hoosiers for another player prop. Charlie Becker and Nick Marsh are one of the best wideout duos in college football, but frankly, I expect the latter to outproduce the former here. Becker remains the primary threat with a team-high 39 receptions and 694 receiving yards. What that means is that the Wolverines may be more likely to send additional coverage his way or otherwise try and limit him as much as possible, perhaps opening up additional opportunities for Marsh. The latter has been very effective himself, notching 32 receptions for 585 yards and seven touchdowns in his first season with the team. The Michigan State transfer has also come online more as the season has progressed. He started fairly slow with just two catches in each of his first two games, but he caught at least five balls in each of the next four outings – including games of 120 and 187 receiving yards – prior to a three-catch outing last week. With more attention likely headed Becker’s way, I think Marsh will benefit to bring in at least five passes.
