NFL DFS Value Picks: Best Cheap DraftKings Plays for Sunday in Week 6
QB Tyler Shough, New Orleans Saints at New York Giants, $5,600
It’s hard to know exactly what to make of the Giants’ pass defense. On the one hand, they’ve allowed the ninth-most FPTS per game to opposing QBs. On the other, much of that is tied up in two very long rushing touchdowns by Jayden Daniels last week. In actuality, New York has held opposing quarterbacks below 200 yards passing in four of its five contests so far this season. Still, I like this spot and I like this price for Shough. The sophomore is coming off a horrendous performance against the Vikings in Week 5, but Brian Flores’ blitz package can’t hurt him anymore. Plus, Shough is simply a volume play. The former second-round pick comes into Week 6 with the second-most drop backs of any QB in the league (225), trailing only reigning MVP Matthew Stafford. Add in his scrambling ability, and there’s a lot to get excited about with Shough — even if this matchup isn’t quite as good as it seems on paper.
RB Tony Pollard, Tennessee Titans at Indianapolis Colts, $5,400
Look, there’s a lot of potential value in this tier of RB in Week 6. You’ve still got Braelon Allen ($5,700). You’ve got Dameon Pierce ($5,100). You’ve got Tyler Allgeier ($4,800). These are all going to be very popular names due to the news-worthy nature of their viability. It’s my hope that that makes the general public overlook Tony Pollard. While it is exceedingly difficult to get excited about any aspect of the Titans’ floundering attack — they sit dead-last in offensive touchdowns per game (1.2) — Pollard’s role is set-in-stone. The veteran has played over 50% of Tennessee’s snaps in four of the team’s five games, he’s averaging 15.3 rushing attempts per contest since Week 2, and he’s seen all 13 of the Titans’ RB carries inside the 10-yard line. If that wasn’t enough of a draw, the Colts are conceding the sixth-most FPTS per game to opposing backfields, and Tyjae Spears ($4,900) has been battling a knee injury all week. If Spears can’t go, Pollard could see his way more work than usual.
WR Tre Tucker, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Buffalo Bills, $4,900
I get it. Being the Raiders’ No. 1 wide receiver is a little like being brightest star in a smoggy sky — what does it really matter? Tucker may have two-times the receptions (19) and receiving yards (274) of any other Las Vegas wideout, but we all know that Brock Bowers ($7,500) is the true top option in this passing game. Still, in a matchup with the Bills, there might be enough opportunity for both Bowers and Tucker to reach their fantasy ceiling. Buffalo’s defense simply has not played well this season. The team is surrendering 28.2 points per game and 388.6 yards per contest — the most of any AFC squad. The Bills have had a specific issue with limiting opposing teams’ receivers, as they’ll allowed an NFL-high 15.2 catches per game to WRs and that’s also translated into the most FPTS per game to the position. Tucker’s a big-play threat and he’s already registered a 119-yard, 25.9 FPTS performance back in Week 2. There’s a blueprint here.
