Check out my best bet for Malcolm Wellmaker vs. Otari Tanzilovi at tonight’s UFC Fight Night below.
Malcolm Wellmaker to Win by KO/TKO/DQ or Submission (+110)
Wellmaker, 32, is 2-2 in the UFC and has lost his previous two bouts against Juan Diaz and Ethyn Ewing. From June 2022 to June 2025, Wellmaker started his MMA career on a 10-fight winning streak with eight finishes. Wellmaker had a three-fight first-round knockout streak, including a victory on Dana White’s Contender Series and two in the UFC. Although he is 32 years old, Wellmaker has shown he is still motivated to improve and to take his game to the next level by joining American Top Team. American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida, is one of the most well-respected gyms, producing many elite fighters. In September 2024, Tanzilovi suffered a split decision loss to Josias Musasa on DWCS. After a win over Guillermo Torres in Fury Fighting Championship, Tanzilovi joined the UFC. In Tanzilovi’s UFC debut, he fell to Shane Collins in June.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Wellmaker is a -225 favorite, with Tanzilovi at +185. The over/under is 2.5 rounds, with both at -115. This bout is +110 to go the distance and -145 not to last the scheduled 15 minutes. Wellmaker is also +120 to win by KO/TKO/DQ and +275 by decision.
Wellmaker has a one-inch edge in height (5’10” vs. 5’9″) and standing reach (71″ vs. 70″) in this bout. For this fight, Wellmaker has the advantage in significant strikes per minute (4.58 vs. 4.20) and striking defense (52% vs. 49%). Tanzilovi does land 4.50 takedowns per 15 minutes through his first two UFC fights.
Coming off two losses and with American Top Team in his corner, Wellmaker should have renewed motivation to get back on track. Wellmaker has allowed three takedowns in each of his last two fights. From the start of this bout, if Wellmaker can defend takedowns, he should be able to showcase his elite striking. Eight of Wellmaker’s 10 MMA wins have come by knockout or submission. Even though he is in the midst of a losing streak, I’m still going to back Wellmaker to win by knockout or submission at +110 because of his previous track record and skill set.
