Kicking off in the 1:00 p.m. ET window of the Week 4 NFL Sunday slate, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will take on the Green Bay Packers.
Neither of these teams has gotten off to their desired starts to the season. The Buccaneers are still searching for their first win on the season and will be doing so without Baker Mayfield following the dislocated thumb he sustained last week. The Green Bay Packers enter with a 1-2 record on the season. With the margins so small in the race in the NFC North, expect a focused effort to get back on track and pursue a winning record.
Looking at the odds, the Packers enter as three-point favorites and hold -170 odds of winning outright on DraftKings Sportsbook. The Buccaneers hold +142 odds of winning outright, with the game total set at 38.5 total points.
Let’s dive into the top player prop bets for Sunday’s clash between the Buccaneers and the Packers.
Buccaneers vs. Packers NFL Player Prop Bets for Week 4
Jalon Daniels to Record an Interception (-142)
All eyes will be on Jalon Daniels as he makes his first career start in some unexpected circumstances. The undrafted rookie opened some eyes in training camp, leading the Buccaneers to release veteran Jake Browning prior to the season as the expected backup quarterback. Daniels had an accomplished collegiate career in which he spent six total seasons at Kansas. He is a dual-threat quarterback with some ability with his legs that will come into play in this matchup. But Daniels still has a way to go toward proving he has an NFL arm, so expect this to be a problem in this matchup.
Mayfield suffered the injury with under two minutes left to play in the previous game, which forced Daniels into action. It is unfair to grade too harshly based on the score and situation, but the rookie attempted three passes and one of them resulted in an interception. The 23-year-old made some major progress cleaning up his turnover issues as he collegiate career played out. Last year at Kansas, he threw 22 touchdowns with seven interceptions across his 12 games played. But the year before, Daniels led the Big 12 with 12 interceptions on the year and tallied 31 total across his time in college.
The margins are even slimmer at the NFL level and there are going to be some growing pains with Daniels’ outlook. I am bullish on what he can turn into, but the reality is it was just a few months ago when no team elected to select the Kansas quarterback with any pick in the draft. It is going to take some time for him to settle in and find his stride. Count on the Packers’ defense to be eager to deliver a ‘Welcome to the NFL’ moment and punish any mistakes the young quarterback makes. Green Bay has tallied two interceptions already this season, and I do not foresee Daniels being able to go the length of this ballgame without putting the ball in harm’s way at least a handful of times.
Christian Watson Anytime Touchdown (+175)
The Green Bay Packers have leaned on a widespread passing attack without a clear top wide receiver for several years. Any individual could step up on any given week depending on the matchup and gameplan. Last year, no pass catcher tallied more than 724 yards through the air, nor did any individual tally more than six receiving scores. But the outlook has shifted a bit this season as Romeo Doubs is now suiting up for the Patriots and Dontayvion Wicks is on the Eagles.
This has left Christian Watson and Matthew Golden to be the clear top wide receivers on the roster. Through the opening three weeks, Watson leads the team with 17 receptions for 284 yards and four touchdowns so far this season. This is a notable uptick for a guy who tallied six touchdowns last year and just two receiving scores in 2024. But Green Bay looks to have found their system in which Golden and Tucker Kraft are the primary drivers of the short and intermediate game, while Watson is the number one deep and red-zone threat.
Tampa Bay has been adequate defensively this season, but they have given up 23+ points in all three games. Green Bay has still found little semblance of a running game, ranking 28th in total rushing yards and 31st in rushing touchdown production. Expect Jordan Love and the passing game to be the primary driver of scoring production whenever the team is within range, and for Watson to be the biggest beneficiary. He ranks fourth in the NFL with six red-zone targets this season and has scored in three games thus far. Expect this trend to continue and capitalize on the friendly +175 odds.
