What happened to Mike Evans? Live injury updates for 49ers vs. Cardinals on Sunday 9/27/26

UPDATE: Evans will not return.

With 1:45 left in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans left the game. After running a slant from the left side of the field, Evans grabbed at his right rib area at the end of the play. He did not get contacted on the play and the ball was batted down before it entered his air space. A few plays earlier, Evans caught a nine-yard pass over the middle then took a crushing blow from Buddha Baker in that right rib area.

Evans was carted to the locker room.

Prior to exiting, Evans caught three of six targets for 34 yards and a touchdown.
