- Philadelphia Phillies vs. Milwaukee Brewers: Brewers RHP Dustin May 4+ strikeouts: May has gone for 4+ K in 4 straight and 6 of his last 8 starts, as well as 20 of his 29 on the year, while PHI has allowed 4 consecutive opposing starters and 8 of the last 11 starters they’ve faced to go over that mark.
- San Francisco Giants vs. Minnesota Twins: Twins RHP Taj Bradley 6+ strikeouts: Bradley has recorded 6+ strikeouts in 6 straight and 13 of his last 16, including 4 straight road starts, with SFG entering Tuesday with 38 strikeouts over their last 3 games.
MLB Strikeout Prop Bets Breakdown
Max Scherzer under 4.5 K (-126), Baltimore Orioles vs. Toronto Blue Jays
Scherzer made headlines with his 10-strikeout outing against the Mariners in late August, but he has otherwise struggled to punch guys out all year long. He has come in under 4.5 strikeouts in 14 of his 16 starts, including seven of his last eight. He also averages 4.6 strikeouts per nine innings on the road, compared to his 7.7 mark at home, which could make Tuesday’s road outing a tough one. Scherzer already posted just three strikeouts when he faced the Orioles in Toronto on Sept. 11, and now he has to face them at Camden Yards. Baltimore averages fewer strikeouts per game at home, too, on top of keeping five straight opposing starters under Scherzer’s line on Tuesday.
Dustin May 4+ K (+106), Philadelphia Phillies vs. Milwaukee Brewers
After posting a 3.54 ERA across his final 19 starts with the Cardinals, May has put up a 5.40 ERA through eight starts in a Brewers uniform. And yet, he has gone for four-plus strikeouts in six of those eight starts, as well as four straight. That brings him to 20-for-29 on the season. Oddly enough, Tuesday marks the first time May has ever faced the Phillies, in either the regular season or postseason. Still, Philadelphia has allowed four straight and eight of the last 11 starters they’ve faced to reach four strikeouts.
Taj Bradley 6+ K (-186), San Francisco Giants vs. Minnesota Twins
Bradley has had a few messy outings over the last month-plus, but he is coming off back-to-back quality starts. He has also recorded at least six strikeouts in six consecutive starts, doing so in four straight road games and 13 of his last 16 appearances overall. As for his opponent, the injury-riddled Giants have struck out 38 times over their last three games alone. Zebby Matthews struck out nine in 5.0 innings in Monday’s series opener, and his 8.0 K/9 this season are a far cry from Bradley’s 10.4 mark. Three of the last four starters or bulk relievers to face San Francisco have hit the six-strikeout threshold, too.
