It’s been a while since The Gentlemen debuted on Netflix all the way back in March 2024. Guy Ritchie returned to write and direct the spinoff of his own 2020 movie of the same name, set once again in the overlapping world of crime and the modern British aristocracy. Now, two-and-a-half years later, the story of the Horniman brothers and Glass family will continue on Netflix, diving even deeper into their intertwined criminal empire.

When does The Gentlemen Season 2 come out?
Season 2 will premiere on Netflix at 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday, September 2. Season 1 had a total runtime of 6 hours and 40 minutes across its eight episodes, which is the same format that Season 2 will follow.
As was the case with Season 1 and most other Netflix shows, the entirety of The Gentlemen Season 2 will drop all at once. The streamer popularized the binge release model years ago and has only pivoted away from it for its biggest brands like Stranger Things, Bridgerton, Wednesday and Outer Banks. Evidently, The Gentlemen Season 2 did not warrant a two-part release model like those shows did.

Who is starring in the show?
Most of the core characters for Season 1 are back for Season 2, from the lead trio to a solid chunk of the supporting cast. But with the story expanding, there are plenty of fresh faces entering the fray as well – including the host of Love Island UK, no less. There are even reports that the Duchess of Sussex herself, Meghan Markle, is poised to join the show, although she isn’t expected to appear until the upcoming Season 3. Despite starring in The Gentlemen movie, Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery, Colin Farrell, Hugh Grant and Jeremy Strong did not appear in Season 1. They are not expected to appear in Season 2, either.
What to expect in The Gentlemen Season 2
Season 2 will pick up one year after Eddie became the heir to the Horniman estate. The Duke of Halstead spent most of Season 1 trying to sever his ties with the criminal underworld, cleaning up his father and brother’s respective messes. However, Eddie ultimately realized how good he was at playing the game, partnering with Susie to join her father Bobby’s international empire as a full-on partner.
Eddie and Susie will be based out of Italy in Season 2, bringing them into conflict with crime boss Marco Moretti and fixer Cico Maldini. And as he tries to ascend through the criminal ranks, Eddie will also have to choose how much of his cushy, high-class life he is willing to leave behind.

But since Guy Ritchie’s next two movies, Wife & Dog and Viva La Madness, have already finished filming, he may be able to get to The Gentlemen Season 3 sooner rather than later.
