There are a handful of aces taking the mound Tuesday, from Nationals righty Jake Irvin to Mariners All-Star Bryan Woo and Royals reclamation project Randy Dobnak. How will Irvin look against the Braves? Will Woo keep a torrid streak alive? Can Dobnak continue his resurgent summer? Here is our full breakdown of where we think each starting pitcher will wind up in the strikeout column.
Best MLB Strikeout Prop Bets Today (September 1, 2026)
- Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves: Nationals RHP Jake Irvin 5+ strikeouts: Irvin has hit 5+ K in 2 of his last 3 and 4 of his last 8, all while the Braves have allowed opposing starters to reach that mark in back-to-back games and 8 of their last 12.
- Boston Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners: Mariners RHP Bryan Woo 5+ strikeouts: Woo is on a run of 9 consecutive starts with 5+ K, even managing to hit that threshold in all three of his starts giving up 5+ ER during that stretch, so Monday’s shootout between BOS and SEA shouldn’t be too discouraging.
- Kansas City Royals vs. Miami Marlins: Royals RHP Randy Dobnak 4+ strikeouts: Dobnak has reached 4+ K in 4 straight starts and 5 of his last 6, plus Miami has struck out 33 times in their last 3 games.
MLB Strikeout Prop Bets Breakdown
Jake Irvin 5+ K (+114), Washington Nationals vs. Atlanta Braves
Irvin has been hit-or-miss this season, struggling both before and after the shoulder injury that knocked him out for two months. His 5.62 ERA isn’t pretty, nor is his -0.4 WAR, but he is at least averaging 9.0 strikeouts per nine innings. He has recorded exactly six strikeouts in two of his last three, as well as four-plus in four straight. On the whole this season, Irvin has hit five strikeouts in nine of his 17 outings. Irvin’s inconsistencies have extended to his three matchups with the Braves this season. He struck out four while allowing three earned runs in 5.0 innings on April 20, then struck out seven in 5.0 scoreless, hitless innings on May 23. Irvin only notched one punchout in 5.0 innings when he returned from the IL on July 30, allowing five earned on three hits, two walks and two homers. Still, Atlanta has allowed opposing starters to go for five-plus strikeouts in back-to-back games and eight of their last 12.
Bryan Woo 5+ K (-125), Boston Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners
Woo has been incredibly dependable in the strikeout market, even if he has been a bit spotty overall. He got shelled for five earned in back-to-back starts to cap off July, then allowed six in his final start of August. The righty posted two scoreless starts in between, though, and went for five-plus strikeouts in all of them. Woo has recorded at least five punchouts in nine straight appearances, as well as 15 of his last 18. He has never dipped below four strikeouts in that stretch, either, so he has pretty much always been flirting with Tuesday’s target for four straight months. Boston has also struck out five-plus times versus opposing starters in five of their last eight.
Randy Dobank 4+ K (-110), Kansas City Royals vs. Miami Marlins
Dobnak fizzled out with the Twins after signing an eight-year extension in 2021, struggling with injuries and getting stuck in the minors. He didn’t catch on with the Tigers and Mariners, but did manage to break into the Royals’ rotation in July. The righty has a 1.92 ERA, pitching into the fifth inning in seven of his eight starts. He has also recorded four-plus strikeouts in four straight and five of his last six. As for the Marlins, their lineup has racked up 33 strikeouts over their last three games alone. They have struck out at least four times versus opposing starters in five of their last eight.
