The final episode of NXT television before their upcoming premium live event, Heatwave, has arrived! Heatwave is taking place on Sunday, August 30 in Texas and features five title matches. Ahead of NXT’s PLE, we will see four matches and likely the continuation of the NXT Championship storyline between Tony D’Angelo, Zilla Fatu, Grayson Waller, and Cruz Montana.

AAA Cruiserweight Championship Match: Rey Fenix (c) vs. EK Prosper
Rey Fenix is set to have matches on back-to-back days this week as he is competing in the World Heavyweight Championship No. 1 Contender’s Tournament on Raw and then will defend the AAA Cruiserweight title on NXT. Fenix has defended the title seven times since winning it in May. Prosper won a Fatal Four Way last week to earn this opportunity. Although Prosper has shown a ton of potential, this isn’t the right time for Fenix’s reign to end.
Rey Fenix vs. EK Prosper Prediction: Rey Fenix defeats EK Prosper.
Weaponized Steel Cage Match: Saquon Shugars vs. Dion Lennox
Since Saquon Shugars was kicked out of DarkState, he has been in an ongoing rivalry with the group, and with Dion Lennox in particular. Shugars and Lennox are 1-1 against each other and will now settle their trilogy in a Weaponized Steel Cage Match. Shugars has done a good job on his own, but Lennox is still the more complete wrestler, giving him more upside for the future. With that said, I believe Lennox comes out of this feud victorious.

Singles Match: Zaria vs. Kali Armstrong
Before Zaria faces Wren Sinclair in a title unification match at Heatwave, she will take on Kali Armstrong on NXT. Zaria is currently on a six-match unbeaten streak, and I expect her to beat Armstrong before Heatwave. Armstrong has been impressive in her first few months on NXT but still needs time to improve and keep up with elite wrestlers in the division.

8-Man Tag Team Match: Sean Legacy, Dorian Van Dux, Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar vs. BirthRight
BirthRight has lost two of their previous three NXT matches and needs to regain momentum. They face a talented team of Sean Legacy, Dorian Van Dux, Romeo Moreno, and Noam Dar. Although BirthRight has had its ups and downs, it still has more cohesion in this contest.
Sean Legacy, Dorian Van Dux, Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar vs. BirthRight Prediction: BirthRight picks up the victory.
