The America’s Got Talent quarterfinals got underway on Tuesday, marking the first of several consequential live shows on the docket for Season 21. There were 11 acts trying to punch their ticket to the semifinals this week, although 10 of them were at the mercy of a fan vote. As for the other, they earned a fast-pass to the finals from one of the A-list judges.

Mentalist duo James & Marina, the CommUNITY ATL choir, singer Ashford Sanders, singer Brook Lynn and dancer Sando were the first acts to get the bad news Wednesday night. And despite reaching the top five, comedian Cris Sosa and the Jesse White Tumbling Team got eliminated as well. There are now 33 quarterfinalists remaining with nine spots left in the semifinals lineup.
Who advanced on America’s Got Talent?
The first act to advance out of Quarterfinals 1 was the magician group Hundred Fingers, who got a Golden Buzzer from Howie Mendel live on Tuesday. As a result, they skipped both the fan vote and semifinals entirely, jumping straight to the finals.
The results episode Wednesday night opened with a performance from K-pop boy band NCT 127, followed by host Terry Crews interviewing Hundred Fingers. There a handful of other recap clips from Tuesday’s performances before the audience learned any voting results. Ultimately, dog trainer Olivia Befus, light-up dance trio Royal Lasers and rapper Luke Taleno advanced to the semifinals. They will perform again on Tuesday, September 15, before discovering their fate again on Wednesday, September 16.
