America’s Got Talent Season 21 has been rolling for over two months at this point, but now the show is shifting into another gear. After hundreds of auditions and some critical decisions from the panel of A-list judges, various singers, magicians and dancers are finally poised to perform live in front of millions of viewers.

When does America’s Got Talent air?
The first quarterfinal of America’s Got Talent Season 21 will air live on NBC on Tuesday, August 18 at 8 p.m ET. The two-hour episode will be available to stream in real-time and on-demand on Peacock, as well.
This marks the first live episode of Season 21, coming in the wake of nine episodes of auditions, deliberations and judges’ callbacks. The next live episode will actually be Wednesday, August 19 at 8 p.m. ET. That one-hour episode is when the public voting results will be revealed. The same Tuesday-Wednesday format will be in place for all four quarterfinals, the semifinals and the finals in the weeks ahead.

What to expect on America’s Got Talent tonight
There are 11 acts competing in America’s Got Talent Quarterfinals 1, eight of whom made it through the judges’ callbacks. Rapper Luke Taleno, meanwhile, earned a Golden Buzzer from Howie back in Episode 1 of auditions. Howie also sent The Hundred Fingers magicians straight to the live shows with a Golden Buzzer in Episode 2. Royal Lasers got their Golden Buzzer from Terry.
And speaking of Golden Buzzers, one act will get a Golden Buzzer live on Tuesday, automatically advancing them past the fan vote and semifinals and directly to the finals. The fate of the remaining 10 acts will be in the hands of the viewers at home, with voting results set to air on Wednesday. The three acts that advance will compete in the semifinals on Tuesday, September 15. Six of the 12 semifinalists will join the Golden Buzzer beneficiaries in the finals on Tuesday, September 22.
