The PGA TOUR is back in the States after a pair of exciting tournaments in the U.K. as the chase for the FedExCup Playoffs heats up over the next three weeks. The first stop in this critical three-week stretch is in Minnesota, where the TPC Twin Cities hosts the 3M Open for the eighth straight season. The course is a low-scoring track but has plenty of hazards that lead to high numbers as well. The volatile week should be a wild ride, and DraftKings has a wide range of contests available, including some excellent cash game opportunities. In this post, I’ll focus on three solid cash game plays for conservative lineups that are designed to help your lineup finish in the top half of cash game contests. My three top fantasy golf cash plays to consider this week are Tom Kim ($9,300), Benjamin James ($8,000) and William Mouw ($7,500).

Think of cash game picks as lying back and playing a par 5 as it was designed, taking three shots before reaching the green, searching for a solid birdie. Tournament picks are like going driver off the deck to try to reach the green in two — more reward if it works, but much more risk, as well.

Tom Kim ($9,300)
Kim is the second-most-popular bet this week to win according to the betting splits. He’s a very solid DFS option as well, with the potential to go low and win if he can carry over his recent momentum. The 24-year-old won his fourth career PGA TOUR event two weeks ago at the Genesis Scottish Open. He missed the cut at The Open last week, but he should be rested and ready to bounce back.
Before his victory, he had three top-15 finishes in six tournaments, and he leads the field in Strokes Gained: Approach over the last three months during that run. He has gained strokes on approach in nine consecutive events, and that kind of iron play makes him a steady option, which makes him a strong play in this week’s fantasy golf cash plays.
Kim will be playing the 3M Open for the third time in his career. He finished T26 in 2022 and T28 in 2025. That kind of solid, steady production and the ability to go low make him a great play just over $9,000 who can be the core of a balanced lineup.
Benjamin James ($8,000)
Since he went pro earlier this summer, Ben James has made the cut in all five of his PGA TOUR events. He earned full-time PGA TOUR membership through the end of the 2027 season after finishing No. 1 in the 2026 PGA TOUR University Ranking. The standout at Virginia is only 23 years old, but he’s showing he can be a steady option while also bringing good upside and the ability to truly contend.
Last week, he finished T4 at the Corales Puntacana Championship, where he was in the top five in the field in Strokes Gained: Approach, GIR% and Scrambling. He has shown he can contend in more difficult fields as well with a solid T23 at the U.S. Open.
Over the last 20 rounds, James ranks 12th in the field in Driving Accuracy and 17th in Total Strokes Gained. Even though he’s making his tournament debut, the youngster has shown enough poise and potential production to be a solid mid-range play in fantasy golf cash plays while his salary remains this affordable.
William Mouw ($7,500)
Mouw is a nice example of converging trends this week, since his recent results have been trending up and he played well on this course last year as well.
The 2025 season was Mouw’s rookie year on the PGA TOUR and he claimed up his first PGA TOUR victory at the ISCO Championship, just over a year ago. He followed that up with a T7 at the 3M Open last year in his first event at TPC Twin Cities. As the season went on, he racked up six top-25 finishes and worked his way into the top 100 at the end of the FedExCup Fall.
After a slow start to 2026, Mouw spiked for a T6 at the Cognizant Classic and a T24 at THE PLAYERS Championship. He went quiet again in May before gathering momentum with a T20 at the RBC Canadian Open, a T65 at the U.S. Open, and a T26 at the John Deere Classic. After that strong buildup, he defended his ISCO Championship two weeks ago with four rounds of 69 or better, finishing T10.
With the top-10 finish in his last event and in his last tournament on this course, he is a good value play for cash lineups. Over the last three months, Mouw ranks 13th in the field in Strokes Gained: Approach and 13th in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green. He has gained strokes on approach in five straight events and has gained strokes off the tee in seven of his last nine. That kind of consistent momentum and a course he excels on is enough to make Mouw one of my top plays of the week, especially for fantasy golf cash lineups.
