Check out my best bet for the Main Event of UFC 329 between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway 2.
Conor McGregor Moneyline (+230)
Conor McGregor enters this fight on a two-fight losing streak. The last time we saw McGregor, he broke his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, which caused the doctor to stop the fight after the first round. McGregor has lost two straight fights to Poirier, and last won against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in January 2020. Since McGregor beat Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 to win the Lightweight title and become the first simultaneous two-division champion, he has gone 1-3 in his previous four fights.
Holloway lost the BMF title to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 in his last fight. He is 1-2 in his previous three contests, with his lone win in that span coming against Dustin Poirier. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Holloway is a -285 favorite with McGregor being the underdog at +230. This fight has an over/under of 2.5 rounds, with both being -115. Holloway is -130 to score a knockout, while McGregor is +300 to win by KO/TKO/DQ.
McGregor is 1-1 when fighting at 170 pounds, while this is Holloway’s Welterweight debut. Holloway has been a much more active fighter than McGregor, with a 20-6 record since their first fight, while McGregor is 8-4. In their first matchup, McGregor dominated the contest, landing 30 more significant strikes, four takedowns, and 6:26 of control time. When they first fought, Holloway and McGregor were both in their early 20s. Now they will stand across from each other as certified legends who have held UFC gold and are both among the best fighters in UFC history.
Even with the long layoff and injuries he has gone through, I think McGregor will be able to hurt Holloway at 170 pounds. Holloway is still an extremely talented striker, but he has never felt power at Welterweight. Throughout fight week, we have seen a more motivated and focused version of McGregor than before.
