Love Island UK is approaching the end of another great season. Episode 42 features reconciliations, breakups and a dramatic recoupling that saw two islanders go home!

Love Island UK Episode 42 Recap 7/10/26
The episode began with Kavan and Jasmine having a much-needed conversation. Kavan decided that Jasmine is his only focus and will let Charleen know that he is moving on. Jasmine is ready to try to forgive him so that things could work again. Kavan did end up having that hard conversation with Charleen and cut things off completely. That led to an upset Charleen needing to be consoled by the Casa Amor girls.
Aidan and Priya were talking about how they don’t like the people that they’re in couples with. Simultaneously, Jordon and Martha were having a conversation about how they aren’t happy either and would be open to getting to know each other. In a wild turn of events, Aidan revealed that he might have some feelings for Priya. So, we could see a wife swap between those two couples.
Next, it was Simba’s turn to try to get his girl back. Simba gathered everyone around the fire pit to read a letter that he wrote to Angelista. After embarrassing her in front of everyone by coming back from Casa Amor with someone else, he decided to uplift her in front of everyone else. He spoke some very nice words about Angelista, and even got emotional after the fact. This could be the moment needed for Simba to get Angie back.
For the first time in weeks, somebody finally decided to use the Hideaway. Kavan and Jasmine decided to spend the morning in there away from the rest of the group. That left Charleen on the sidelines. Charleen pulled Kavan aside to let him know that he is moving disrespectfully. However, Kavan completely dismissed her feelings and cast her aside.
Sean and Lola continue to spiral about the idea of not being the perfect couple. They are seemingly angry at the producers for making them look bad in Movie Night — which is, in fact, the entire point of Movie Night. Lola is very much not angry about everything that happened with Fitzy. She is definitely just mad at everyone else. I promise, there is not an ounce of sarcasm in this statement.
The Recoupling
The islanders got a text that there would be a recoupling tonight, with the boys choosing who they want to couple up with. That would leave two girls single after the recoupling.
Tommy went first and picked Yasmin. Samraj went second and picked Mica. Another unsurprising pick came next, with Fitzy picking Lola. The final happy couple left was Finley picking Ellie.
Up next, it was time for the groveling boys to get their girls back. First, Kavan picked Jasmine, hoping they could be settled down for good now. In a break from the groveling boys, Lorenzo gave a very nice speech for Julia. However, the groveling continued as Simba gave his speech to Angelista and recoupled with her. Aidan was up next, and he was choosing between Priya and Martha. In a recoupling nobody saw coming, Aidan picked Priya.
Those choices left three girls from Casa Amor, Martha, Mara and Charleen, for Jordon to choose from. He had been getting to know both Martha and Mara. Jordon decided to pick Martha, which was a bit of a surprise to Mara and the rest of the group. That left Mara and Charleen single, and they were dumped from the island.
