Atlanta Braves Team Total Over 4.5 Runs
Odds: -115 | Opponent: New York Mets
The Braves will face the Mets and Freddy Peralta tonight in Atlanta. Peralta has run into some bad luck lately, as indicated by his 4.81 ERA and an xERA of 3.78. Nonetheless, this is a tough matchup for him against a Braves team that should be full of lefties. There is a good shot the Braves will have between six or seven lefties in the lineup and that’s been the weak spot for Peralta. He owns a .348 wOBA against them with a 4.73 FIP and 12 of the 13 home runs he’s allowed. He’s a very heavy four-seam fastball pitcher, throwing it nearly 52% of the time. The Braves’ expected lineup has hit that pitch for a good amount of pop with a .193 combined ISO.
Luis Garcia 2+ Total Bases
Odds: -105 | Opponent: Houston Astros
Garcia is having an insanely good season and I don’t think a lot of people are noticing. Through 84 games, he’s slashing .282/.313/.561 with 19 home runs, 64 RBI and 42 runs scored. His 19 home runs are a new career high and he’s currently on pace for 37 home runs. He’s been hitting for a ton of power overall and ended the month of June with a .471 ISO, as 17 of his 29 hits went for extra bases. Through four games in July he has five hits with three of them being a home run.
He draws a great matchup tonight against Astros starter Mike Burrows, who has put up some very poor numbers against lefties. He’s allowed a .414 wOBA with a 6.73 FIP and 13 of the 19 home runs he’s allowed. His two main pitches, a changeup and a four-seam fastball, are pitches that Garcia has handled well. Garcia owns a .371 wOBA with a .263 ISO against the changeup and a .401 wOBA with a .333 ISO against the fastball.

Landen Roupp 6+ Strikeouts
Odds: +140 | Opponent: Toronto Blue Jays
This is an alternate strikeout total for the Giants starter facing the Blue Jays tonight. His current strikeout line is set at 4.5 with the over priced at -153. I think he’s in a great spot to record at least six strikeouts against this lineup tonight. You may not realize it but Roupp owns a K/9 of 10 through his 17 starts this season. He’s also had at least six strikeouts in 11 of the 17 starts he’s made. The Blue Jays provide plenty of strikeout upside, as tonight’s expected lineup owns a combined 20% K% against right-handed pitching.. I’m taking the alternate total to get the +140 tonight.
