PITCHER
Stud
Zack Wheeler, Phillies @ Reds ($10,500): If you’re gonna pay up for a pitcher, you better pay up today. Zack Wheeler looks like one of the best arms in baseball, but that’s to be expected from the veteran. He brings an 8-1 record into the picture with a 2.36 ERA and 0.94 WHIP in 13 starts. He’s also struck out 84 batters in 80.0 IP with an elite chase rate and above-average marks in whiff and strikeout rate, the latter of which comes in at 27.3% for an 80th-percentile grade. The opposing Reds are a pretty desirable matchup with a .680 OPS against right-handed pitching that ranks 26th in baseball on a slash line of .225/.303/.377 in the split. They also have an elevated 24.8% K% that sits second highest among all clubs. Wheeler is worth the salary here with 22.4 FPPG and a ceiling in the 30s.
Value
Robert Gasser, Brewers at Cardinals ($7,000): We’re taking a slight risk here with Robert Gasser, who’s facing a quality Cardinals lineup that remains a top-half offense in baseball. He’s 1-3 through seven games with a 4.54 ERA, a 1.29 WHIP and 36 punchouts across 35.2 IP. Solid marks, yeah? Gasser also averages 13.0 FPPG, which feels about right at this salary. Here’s why I like him. He has a 78th-percentile xERA and 87th-percentile xBA with low average exit velocity and a 94th-percentile hard-hit rate. Sure, the sample is small, but he also had a 3.95 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP in five June starts as well, allowing two or fewer earned runs in three of those. The Redbirds may have a .715 OPS against lefties, but they also have a .136 ISO and aren’t likely to take him deep. With 15.6 DKFP in three of his last five games, Gasser looks like a nice value, especially if you’re bullish on the Brew Crew.
INFIELD
Stud
3B Miguel Vargas, White Sox vs. Red Sox ($5,000): One of the studs in the White Sox lineup, Miguel Vargas averages a cool 9.4 FPPG this season and is an absolute monster against left-handed pitchers. He’s slashing .303/.431/.629 for a staggering 1.060 OPS in the split, logging 27 hits and eight homers for 17 runs and 14 RBI. That’s exactly the kind of production we can build around at the hot corner. He does get a tougher assignment against Red Sox southpaw Payton Tolle, who has a 3.39 ERA and 1.12 WHIP while keeping hard hits down. However, that may matter less based on the form Vargas has displayed time and again against pitchers of similar handedness this year.
Value
Romy Gonzalez, Red Sox at White Sox ($3,300): On the opposite side of the Sox-off, we’ve got Boston infielder Romy Gonzalez. He was awesome last season with a .305/.343/.483 line for an .826 OPS, and in a small sample of just 20 at-bats in 2026, he’s producing once again. So far, the 29-year-old has a six hits, a triple, two runs, four RBI and a homer. Yes, the sample size is tiny, but 12 of those at-bats have come against lefties with a 1.083 OPS. Go back to last year and the numbers support this trend, though — we’re talking a .331/.378/.600 slash line for a .978 cumulative mark and seven of his nine total homers. Gonzalez has an average of 8.4 FPPG in five games this year with 16 and 20 in his last two. Against southpaw Noah Schultz, who has a 5.86 ERA this season overall and a 1.44 WHIP against right-handed hitters, Gonzalez brings fantastic value with additional positional versatility.
OUTFIELD
Stud
Jake McCarthy, Rockies at Dodgers ($4,200): Justin Wrobleski has performed admirably for the Dodgers this year with a 2.80 ERA and 1.01 WHIP, but Jake McCarthy’s reverse splits may prove too much to handle. The lefty-hitting outfielder has a .386/.386/.596 slash line for a .982 OPS against southpaw pitchers this year, including a pair of homers. Clearly, walks aren’t really his thing, but that’s okay when you’re putting up the kind of numbers he has lately. McCarthy averages 8.3 FPPG and has 10, 47 and 29 over three of his last four games, also hitting 20+ DKFP an additional three times over his last 15 outings in total. The guy has had some massive totals and brings some flashy upside at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night.
Value
Garrett Mitchell, Brewers at Cardinals ($3,400): We’re taking another Brewer so that Gasser doesn’t get lonely in our lineup. Lefty Garrett Mitchell can be a foundational corner outfielder when facing right-handed pitching, amassing an .855 OPS with production of .269/.361/.495 in the split. He’s coming off an awesome last week in which he posted 10+ DKFP in four straight games from June 30 to July 3, then put up eight on Independence Day. With 7.1 FPPG, there’s reliability here that we like to see at this salary. With 9.7 FPPG over his last 10 contests and 8.2 against the Cardinals this season, he may still get his numbers even against Michael McGreevy, a righty who is due for some regression with an eighth-percentile xERA and fourth-percentile xBA.
