Philadelphia Phillies Team Total Over 4.5 Runs

Odds: -130 | Opponent: Pittsburgh Pirates

Team totals are juiced across the board because of the weather around the country. If you check out our MLB Weather Report you’ll see hot, humid weather with wind across the majority of games tonight. One team I really like tonight is the Phillies going against the Pirates and Bubba Chandler. Chandler has really poor numbers against lefties, especially on the road. Coming into tonight, Chandler owns a .367 wOBA with a 6.24 FIP and five of the nine home runs he’s allowed against lefties on the road. The Phillies lineup will be stuffed with left-handed bats, likely with six starting. When Chandler faced the Phillies earlier this season in Pittsburgh, he allowed five runs (four earned) on three hits and four walks through three innings, his shortest outing of the season. I believe the Phillies should be in a great spot to go over their team total tonight.

Pete Alonso 2+ Total Bases

Odds: -107 | Opponent: Chicago White Sox

Alonso and the Orioles are in a great matchup tonight against Erick Fedde and the White Sox. Weather is great for hitting and Fedde is someone that Alonso can beat. On the season, Fedde has allowed a .370 wOBA with a 6.95 FIP and 11 of the 14 home runs he’s allowed this season. Righties also have a 41% fly ball rate against Fedde, which is great for Alonso. After a slow start to his Orioles career, Alonso has been hitting for a ton of power, specifically in June, His .287 ISO is his highest mark of the season, and he’s also produced a 48% hard-hit rate in June.

Eury Perez Under 14.5 Outs Recorded

Odds: +121 | Opponent: Colorado Rockies

Perez draws a matchup against the Rockies at Coors Field tonight. The weather, like most games tonight, is ideal for hitters, not pitchers. Coors Field will be humid with winds blowing out. Perez has been much worse when he’s on the road already, and these conditions won’t help. Through 28.1 innings on the road, Perez has a 6.04 ERA with a .381 wOBA and a 5.57 FIP. His HR/9 also jumps significantly on the road to 1.9 compared to 1.3 at home.

This outs total is small, admittedly. At 14.5 outs, we’re looking for Perez to be out of this game before he completes five innings. To his credit, he’s completed at least five innings in the majority of his starts, nine of his 13. However, he’s completed at least 5.1 innings in only five of them. So he’s constantly exiting games at five innings or less. It’s also noteworthy that the under has hit on 14.5 outs in three of his six road starts. With a tough matchup on tap in one of the best hitting environments MLB has to offer, I’m going under 14.5 outs at +121.
