After days of subtle teases on her Instagram account and seemingly revealing a debut date via friendship bracelet, Caitlin Clark delivered the first look of her upcoming debut signature sneaker with Nike.

It’s hard to discern much from this photo at a distance, but the majority Royal upper with a metallic silver Swoosh definitely stands out. It looks like the shoe will be a low top-style sneaker, ala the still popular Kobe line. As seen in Clark’s Instagram profile picture, the upper appears to feature a pattern of repeating Cs as a key design element, again somewhat similar to the Kobe 6’s snakeskin-like upper.
After wearing Kobe Protros since coming into the WNBA with the Indiana Fever, Nike confirmed last summer that Clark would be getting her own signature sneaker. Clark joins the likes of Sabrina Ionescu and A’ja Wilson as WNBA stars with Nike signature models, with both seeing significant success in the marketplace.
“Nike’s signature roster features all-time greats, and I am incredibly proud to join some of the best athletes in the world,” Clark said in a press release last summer on Nike’s newsroom site. “I’m excited to share a first look at what we’ve started to create together.”
Nike said at the time that Clark would “continue to work side-by-side with experts across the brand to help shape the future of basketball — fueling hoops culture, growing the women’s game and empowering the next generation to reach their dreams.” Given Clark’s intense and devoted fanbase, it’s fair to assume that her signature sneaker will have an even bigger impact once it hits the market than any signature sneaker launch since perhaps LeBron James’ Air Zoom Generation in 2003.

When is Caitlin Clark’s signature sneaker expected to debut?
As revealed by Clark via friendship bracelet, her debut signature sneaker is expected to launch on October 1. It should be noted that this has not yet been confirmed by Nike.
How much will the Caitlin Clark 1 cost?
Nike has yet to reveal a suggested retail price for Clark’s signature sneaker. For comparison’s sake, the most recent Nike Sabrina 3 had a suggested retail price of $135, while A’ja Wilson’s most recent A’Two sneaker has a suggested retail price of $145.
What will be the initial colorway?
Nike has yet to confirm what the initial colorway of the Caitlin Clark 1 will be. Obviously this Royal blue colorway has been the only version we’ve seen thus far and has been featured in all of Caitlin’s teases on her Instagram page, so it’s possible that this will be the debut colorway. But that’s still to be determined.
