Mexico and South Korea both handled business in their 2026 FIFA World Cup openers, and now Group A gets a headliner matchup.

Mexico opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over South Africa at Estadio Azteca, getting goals from Julian Quiñones and Raul Jimenez to kick off the 2026 World Cup with three points. South Korea answered with a 2-1 comeback win over Czechia, putting both teams level at the top of Group A entering their second match.

Mexico and South Korea will meet Thursday, June 18 at 9 p.m. ET at Estadio Akron in Guadalajara. DraftKings Sportsbook has opening odds for the Group A matchup.

2026 World Cup Odds for Mexico vs. South Korea

Mexico opens as a slight favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook, sitting at +100 on the 90-minute Moneyline. South Korea is +300 to pull off the upset.

The total is set at 2.5 goals, with the under heavily juiced at -175 and the over at +140. That’s befitting of this match where Mexico has the home stadium edge, but South Korea already showed it has enough quality and resilience to make this interesting.

Mexico can take a major step toward the knockout rounds with another win, while South Korea has a chance to flip Group A by beating the host nation on Mexican soil.
