The Chicago Cubs are on Sunday Night Baseball for a second straight week to close out the first weekend of June with a nice home matchup against the San Francisco Giants. The two teams split the first two games in the series, and they will get underway at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC/Peacock in the last baseball game of the day. Let’s take a look at my top three best bets from the player prop market in this Sunday Night Baseball matchup.
The Cubs are slight home favorites at -132 on the Moneyline, and they are getting 76% of the bets as of Sunday afternoon. The over/under is eight runs, with 78% of bets coming in on the over.

Giants at Cubs Prop Bets for 6/7/26
Trevor McDonald Over 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed (+113)
McDonald has a 4.50 ERA and 3.66 FIP in his six starts for the Giants with a 1.15 WHIP and solid 3.82 xERA. He has had a few very strong outings, but he has also struggled in his last few trips to the mound. He has lost three straight games, allowing at least three runs in each of those games and in four of his last five.
He went five innings in his last start on the road against the Brewers, allowing five hits and three walks. He walked the first two batters in that game and then served up a three-run homer before settling down for the rest of the day.
McDonald has struggled against lefties, allowing a .284 batting average in the splits with a .371 wOBA and .194 ISO. The Cubs have multiple lefties that make sense to back (as highlighted below), and McDonald could struggle at Wrigley even though the wind is blowing in.
Michael Busch 2+ Hits + Runs + RBI (+100)
Busch typically hits third in the order against righties, which puts him right in the middle of the Cubs’ run-scoring potential this Sunday. He has 120 HRR (hits, runs and RBI) in his 64 games this season for an average of 1.9 HRR per game on the year.
He had two singles on Saturday to hit the over even in the low-scoring game, and he has gone over this prop line in seven of his last 10 games overall.
Busch has been especially productive in his 34 home games, hitting .292 at home with 2.1 HRR per contest. He’s hitting .325 against righties at Wrigley, with a .401 wOBA.
With multiple paths to getting this green, Busch can get the over by himself with a couple of hits like yesterday, or just come up in the right situation and reach it early with some help from his teammates. Given how hittable McDonald has been by lefties, this feels like great value for Busch on this Sunday night.
Rafael Devers 2+ Total Bases (+120)
Opposite McDonald, Jameson Taillon gets the ball for the Cubs. It’s been a rough year for the veteran righty, who has allowed more homers (20) than any other pitcher in the majors this season. It will help that the wind will be blowing in, but his numbers against lefties are still a little scary for Cubs fans. The numbers are great for backing lefty bats for the Giants, though, which is why I like backing Devers as a plus-money play to get multiple total bases.
I highlighted Devers in my home run props for the later slate as well, but this is a more conservative way to back the lefty. He is 4-for-13 against Taillon with a pair of homers in their past matchups, and he comes into this meeting with good momentum, with 11 extra-base hits in his last 13 contests. He is 14-for-55 (.255), but only three of those hits have been singles. He has eight doubles, a triple and two homers during that span with a 61.1% hard-hit rate.
Since Taillon has allowed a .393 wOBA and 15.5% barrel rate to lefties this season, Devers has a solid shot to hit this prop Sunday night.
