UPDATE: Bassitt left the game due to lower-back tightness.
After pitching three innings in Wednesday’s game against the Boston Red Sox, Chris Bassitt was replaced by Albert Suarez. The veteran right-hander labored through the third inning, throwing 36 pitches and allowing a two-run home run to Wilyer Abreu. Bassitt was removed due to an undisclosed injury or ailment.
Before exiting, Bassitt allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks with just one strikeout through three frames. He threw 56 total pitches, 35 for strikes.
Since Bassitt faced more than five batters, he is not eligible for DraftKings Early Exit.
