When does the Euphoria Season 3 finale come out on HBO?

Euphoria goes long for its finale. Episode 8, “In God We Trust,” airs Sunday, May 31 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and Max, and the episode reportedly runs 93 minutes—basically a movie-length ending for a season that has already blown past its old high-school shape. HBO has framed it as the Season 3 finale, though the way the cast and creator have talked about closure makes it feel like the show may be saying goodbye for good.

More on the major events of episode seven (spoilers ahead) and what to expect from the finale below.

Euphoria Season 3 finale preview

The finale arrives after the most brutal turn of the season. Episode 7, “Rain or Shine,” killed Nate Jacobs after Naz buried him alive over his debt, with a rattlesnake finishing the job before Cassie could get the ransom money to him. It was grotesque, weirdly biblical, and very Euphoria: a character who spent years hurting people finally trapped inside the kind of horror he helped create.

That leaves Cassie in ruins again, but this time the wreckage is public and financial, not just romantic. She spent the season building her online persona with Maddy close by, chasing subscribers, money and the illusion of control after the Nate fantasy collapsed. Now Nate is dead, the debt world is still active, and Maddy has already been pulled deep enough into Alamo’s orbit to make her more than an observer.

Rue’s finale lane is even darker. She has been used by federal agents, pushed back into Alamo’s world, sent toward Laurie’s operation, and left staring at the human cost of that network. The finale has to deal with Rue as someone who has survived the season’s violence without being remotely safe. That has always been Zendaya’s great territory on the show: the hollow, stunned stretch after the emergency, when Rue is still breathing and still has to live with what happened.

The finale preview suggests that silence won’t last long.

Euphoria Season 3 finale FAQ

When does the Season 3 finale air?

The premiere of Euphoria drops on Sunday, May 24 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, with the episode streaming the same night on HBO Max. Episodes will roll out weekly, returning the show to its usual Sunday-night, event-TV slot.

Will there be another season?

Nothing is confirmed. HBO is calling this the Season 3 finale, but Zendaya and Sam Levinson have both suggested this season brings real closure.

Why the ambiguity?

HBO has not officially called it the series finale. The creative side sounds finished; the corporate language still leaves the door slightly open.
