Update: Christian Walker passed concussion tests and plans to play Sunday, he told reporters after the game.

Houston Astros first baseman Christian Walker left Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park after getting drilled in the head with a pitch in the ninth inning.

Walker, 35, was replaced by Braden Shewmake after having his helmet shattered by a 93.3 mph fastball from left-hander Tyler Samaniego.

The righty slugger was 3-for-4 with a solo home run — his eighth blast of the season — and two RBIs.

On the season, he’s hitting .309 with a .963 OPS and 26 RBIs — all top-20 marks in MLB.

The Astros (12–21, 4th AL West) took Saturday’s contest, 6–3, to split the first two contests with the Red Sox (13–19, 5th AL East). Sunday’s rubber match is set for 1:35 p.m. ET.
