NBA Best Bets: Top Same Game Parlay for Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Game 2

The NBA will continue tonight with its Western 3 vs. 6 matchup as the Denver Nuggets host the Minnesota Timberwolves at 10:30 PM EST. The Nuggets clawed out the win in Game 1. The Nuggets will be without Peyton Watson. The Timberwolves have listed Anthony Edwards as Questionable, but I’d be shocked if he doesn’t suit up.

DraftKings Sportsbook is offering an amazing 30% profit boost promotion for the beginning of the NBA Play-In Tournament. Opt in and create a same game parlay (SGP) for this tilt between the Nuggets and Timberwolves with your single-use Profit Boost Token. The only catch? The parlay must be at least four legs with odds of at least +300 or longer.

You can check out the game prediction, top player props, and plenty more on DraftKings Network. But for now, let’s dive into my top same-game parlay for this Western Conference clash.

Nuggets vs. Timberwolves Same Game Parlay:

  • 3+ Jamal Murray Three Pointers Made
  • 9+ Nikola Jokic Assists
  • Over 11.5 Rudy Gobert Points O/U
  • 20+ Anthony Edwards Points

SGP Odds: +370

Jamal Murray 3+ Three Pointers Made (-152)

We saw Murray go 0 for 8 from downtown in Game 1, but I’m not counting on this to become the norm moving forward. Murray recouped an ugly shooting night by doing his best SGA impression and getting to the line a whopping 16 times (and sank all 16 of his free throws).

Murray averaged 3.3 3PA in the regular season, which is the highest mark of his career. While Minnesota is conceding the fewest amount of threes per game in the regular season, at 12 per game, it’s unrealistic for Murray to shoot blanks for the remainder of this series. And despite Minnesota’s reliance on shutting down opponents three point attempts, they won’t dissuade Murray from continuing to fire from deep, as his three ball is one of his best and most reliable weapons. Murray attempted 7.5 threes per game in the regular season and cashed them at a 43.5% rate, an elite mark for an elite shooter.

Nikola Jokic 9+ Assists (-234)

Minnesota did a good job overall of limiting opponent assists in the regular season, finishing with 26.1 APG conceded per game, the tenth best mark in the NBA. The problem for them is that Nikola Jokic defies all rules and conventions. He dished out 11 dimes during Denver’s Game 1 victory over the Timberwolves, and currently holds disgusting -1420 odds to record a triple double tonight. Despite Minnesota’s defense and ability to limit opponent assists, it’s unrealistic for them to shut down the main offensive engine of the Nuggets.

Rudy Gobert Over 11.5 Points (-112)

Gobert’s only averaging 10.9 PPG this season, his lowest mark since 2015-2016 during which he recorded 9.1 PPG. It’s clear that he won’t be responsible for generating offense on this team, but it’s not that he can’t. His role as a defensive anchor is to soak in coverage that his perimeter defenders funnel into him, and occasionally dunk some open lobs. Well, he was 8-9 from the field in Game 1, and despite shooting 20% from the line, he still managed to record 17 points. Nikola Jokic isn’t a rim protector and won’t offer much resistance against Gobert’s rim pressure, especially due to his team’s reliance on him on the offensive end. Jokic can’t afford to gamble on contests because foul trouble spells doom for Denver’s chances of winning the game outright.

Anthony Edwards 20+ Points (-461)

Again, I’d be shocked if Edwards doesn’t suit up. That being said, he’s clearly not operating at 100%, shooting 7/19 in Game 1 en route to 22 points. He’ll continue to receive big volume tonight and will likely get to 20 points through shot attempts alone, but I don’t think it’ll be pretty, and by extension, I don’t think he’ll be efficient. Regardless, Edwards is a scoring machine who’s a talented bucket getter, and even in an injured state, he should be a solid lock for at least 20 points tonight.
