Shohei Ohtani 1+ Home Run (+201): Ohtani is always a popular prop, and he’s at the top of the list on Sunday as his Dodgers continue their series in Colorado at Coors Field. He’s hitting leadoff against righty Michael Lorenzen, who has an 8.10 ERA in his five games for the Rockies, giving up 20 runs (15 earned) on 32 hits in just 16 2/3 innings. He has given up four homers, including three to lefties like Ohtani. In their past meetings, Shohei is 2-for-9 but hasn’t gone yard. Ohtani is 3-for-9 in the series with a double but has not homered since last Sunday at home against the Rangers.
Mike Trout 1+ Home Run (+322): Ohtani’s former teammate, Mike Trout is off to a great start this season. The 34-year-old righty has seven homers in his 21 games, including five in his last six games. Trout has a 45.6% hard-hit rate and 26.3% barrel rate. He and the Angels are 11-11 as they look to get a series win against the visiting Padres. He’ll face Michael King, who is 2-1 with a 2.78 ERA and 3.65 FIP in his first four starts of the season, spanning 22 2/3 innings. King has allowed just one homer on the season, and that came to righty Willson Contreras of the Red Sox. Trout will look to add another homer to his big start on Sunday afternoon and help his team get back over .500.
Kyle Schwarber 1+ Home Run (+335): I highlighted Schwarber in my top home run props for the later games on Sunday, and the Phillies will hope he can help them avoid a sweep by the Braves. We’ve already seen six Schwarbombs this season, and the 33-year-old is hitting .211. He hasn’t homered off opposing starting pitcher Grant Holmes in their past meetings, but he has all six of his homers against righties and five at home, resulting in an impressive .628 wOBA and 301 wRC+ in his small sample size against righties at Citizens Bank Park this season. The public likes him to finish the week with a blast in this spot Sunday night.
