Today’s contest between the Tigers and the Royals has been delayed due to inclement weather. However, the game is now expected to begin at 2:15 p.m. ET.
Maybe a little rain is the only thing that can slow Detroit down. After an underwhelming start to the season, the Tigers are on quite the run — and I don’t just mean locking up young phenom Kevin McGonigle to an eight-year extension. Entering play on Thursday, Detroit was back at .500, having won its past five matchups.
When this one does get underway, Keider Montero will be opposed by Kris Bubic. Both pitchers have looked fantastic in 2026, with Montero in possession of a 1.74 ERA and a 1.20 xERA. Not bad for a guy only in the rotation due to Justin Verlander’s injury.
