It’s Wednesday, which means baseball games scattered across the afternoon and night. However, for the purposes of this article, we’ll solely be focusing on this evening’s eight-game featured MLB DFS slate, which gets going on DraftKings at 7:05 p.m. ET.

A little baseball and a chance at $50,000? What’s not to like?

PITCHER

Stud

Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets, $9,500 – It’s rare that my reasoning for liking Shohei Ohtani on a slate has more to do with the circumstances surrounding the reigning NL MVP than his own pure talent, but that’s exactly where I’m at on Wednesday. Don’t get me wrong, Ohtani’s been great in his two starts this season, not allowing an earned run over 12.0 innings, yet this just has to be more about the Mets’ dreadful offensive woes. New York’s been shutout three times in it’s past five games. In the 10 contests the club has played since Juan Soto (calf) went on the IL, it ranks dead-last in the league in wRC+ (60) and ISO (.083). Do we really think this team-wide slump is going to end in a matchup against the world’s best player? I have my doubts!

Value

Spencer Arrighetti, Houston Astros vs. Colorado Rockies, $7,000 – The Astros’ rotation is riddled with injury, but luckily for the organization, there was an MLB-quality starter waiting down in Triple-A. Arrighetti has thrown 180.1 innings with Houston across 2024 and 2025, and while a 4.69 ERA isn’t ideal, the right-hander has shown some real strikeout upside, sitting down over 10 opponents per nine for his career. Arrighetti has also looked quite good in the minors in 2026, sporting a 1.26 ERA over 14.1 innings with 20 strikeouts. The 26-year-old doesn’t come close to having the highest floor of any pitcher on this slate, but the upside is clear and the matchup is a great one. The Rockies have oddly hit better away from Coors to begin the year, but that still only means an 87 wRC+ with a 28.0% strikeout rate. Woof.

INFIELD

Stud

Ben Rice, New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels, $5,500 – Rice enters play on Wednesday having registered a 100th percentile hard hit rate (70.0%), a 99th percentile expected wOBA (.467) and a 98th percentile expected slugging rate (.680). The man is simply one of the best platoon bats in MLB and, fortunately, the Yankees are facing an RHP on Wednesday night. Jack Kochanowicz ($6,800) has survived his first three outings of 2026, yet a 6.08 xERA is indicative of the regression that’s on the horizon. Let’s also not forget 2025. The RHP surrendered 1.70 opponent home runs per nine last year, with 17 of the 21 long balls being served up to left-handed bats. Rice is in a wonderful spot.

Value

Jazz Chisholm, New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels, $3,900 – How about a little Yankees stack? All made possible by the fact that Chisholm’s salary has finally fallen below $4,000. It’s been an abysmal start to the season for the infielder, yet this is the same man who went 30/30 in 2025. Let’s not go overboard with any washed takes. Chisholm has said he doesn’t like hitting in the cold, and that’s shown, as his .198 expected wOBA is somehow worse than his actual mark of .224. Still, we know Jazz has upside and that Kochanowicz struggles mightily with LHBs. Chisholm also already has six stolen bases, so even if his bat isn’t firing on all cylinders, he has other ways to contribute.

OUTFIELD

Stud

Brandon Nimmo, Texas Rangers at Athletics, $4,900 – It would seem that Nimmo likes his new home in Texas. Yes, a .400 BABIP will fade and he won’t continue to outpace his expected wOBA by 70 points, but Nimmo comes into Wednesday slashing .333/.395/.551 with a 169 wRC+. The tangible results speak for themselves at this point. It’s hard not to get excited about this specific matchup with J.T. Ginn ($7,300), too, especially when you factor in how hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park plays. In his career, Ginn’s allowed opposing LHBs to combine for a .317 average and a .403 wOBA. It’s certainly been his Achilles’ heel.

Value

Mike Yastrzemski, Atlanta Braves vs. Miami Marlins, $3,000 – I won’t sugarcoat it. It’s been an extremely disappointing start to Yastrzemski’s time as a member of the Braves. However, a date with Chris Paddack ($6,200) might be able to turn the veteran’s season around. Yastrzemski has seen a lot of Paddack over the years, and it would be an understatement to say he’s hit him well. In fact, Yastrzemski is 9-for-23 off Paddack with three home runs and a 1.353 OPS. Your milage with BvP stats may vary, but at the end of the day, Yastrzemski is dirt cheap in an opposite-hand matchup against a struggling starter, as Paddack currently owns a 6.14 ERA. There’s also a decent chance that Yastrzemski will be batting fifth. There’s real value here.
