Jack Kochanowicz over 11.5 Hits/Earned Runs/Walks allowed -115 vs. New York Yankees
Kochanowicz is a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. After getting roughed up by the Astros, who tagged him for six runs (five earned) on four hits, he somehow managed to allow just one run over his next two starts. But his advanced numbers suggest it should have been much worse. Despite tossing 12.2 innings of one-run ball against the Reds and Mariners, Kochanowicz had an xERA of at least 5.05 in both starts. In fact, his xERA against the Reds was 8.26, despite allowing one run. Now, he’ll face a Yankees lineup that crushes sinkers, which is his main pitch.
This is expected to be a high-scoring game with a game total of 10.5 at the time of writing. Kochanowicz could issue a lot of walks, as his BB/9 is 5.9 through 16.2 innings. The Yankees currently have the highest BB% against righties in the league at 13.3%. Kochanowicz has walked at least four batters in two of his three starts. It’ll be good hitting weather tonight as well, with temperatures in the low 80s and winds blowing out slightly toward left field.
Brandon Lowe 2+ total bases (-116) vs. Washington Nationals
Lowe is on an insane run to start the 2026 season. He’s averaging 2.6 total bases per game, thanks to his seven home runs through 15 games. He has a real shot to add to that total against Nationals starter Jake Irvin tonight. Irvin has always struggled with giving up home runs, and 2026 has been no different. Through 14 innings, he’s already allowed three, giving him a HR/9 of 1.9. Irvin is also allowing a massive 55% fly ball rate, which is way above his career average of 38%. Irvin also struggles specifically against lefties, as they hit 26 of the 38 home runs he gave up in 2025. This is a big spot for Lowe, who is one of the hottest hitters in baseball right now.
Atlanta Braves team total over 2.5 runs through first five innings (-115) vs. Miami Marlins
Chris Paddack will make his fourth start tonight and hasn’t shown much to build on. Through 14.2 innings, he owns a 6.14 ERA with a 4.30 xERA and a 5.14 FIP. He’ll face a Braves offense that has been one of the best against righties in the early going, ranking third in runs and home runs. Paddack has always struggled with keeping the ball in the park and has already surrendered three.
I wanted to target the first five innings team total as the Marlins bullpen has been quite good. The Braves have also been one of the top scoring teams through the first five innings, averaging 3.1 runs, ranking them fourth in the league. Only the Twins, Astros and Dodgers have a higher average.
