Following a double-elimination in the fifth episode that sent home Charlie Davis and Angelina Keeley, Survivor 50 returned Wednesday night with the sixth installment of the show’s most anticipated season yet. Including spoilers for who was voted out, let’s break down Survivor 50 Episode 6: The Blood Moon.
Survivor 50 Episode 6 Recap
Oh, There’s a Boat!
Episode 6 opened up with a Rizo boast session (completely out of character, I know) about his recent string of moves, forming an alliance with the girls and voting Charlie out. Meanwhile, Jonathan scrambled to work his way back in with Dee, before a boat interrupted their conversation, setting the stage for a historic event…
Mail was delivered to the three tribes, announcing an unprecedented merge at 17, the largest in Survivor history. Prior to the arrival of fresh faces on their beach, Ozzy informed Emily and Christian of his idol to solidify their connection.
Freshly merged, the dynamic duo of Rick and Christian reunited, filling each other on their various escapades. Then, we returned to the Genevieve-Aubry feud, as the former sent out to discredit her rival all throughout camp. Soon, everyone not only knew about Aubry’s idol, but ALL of the idols presently in play. Meanwhile, Jonathan’s surprisingly savvy strategic play continued, as he built relationships with as many people as possible.

The Blood Moon
Suddenly, a letter arrived, informing the remaining contestants of a hidden twist somewhere in the jungle. The players scrambled to find it, and ultimately Ozzy was successful. The twist was revealed to be a tragic ticket to Exile Island, and the veteran picked Rizo to join him. In a positive twist for the pair, while they were sidelined from the action, they would miss the subsequent tribal council.
Without their two freshly departed members, the tribe then headed to the first individual immunity challenge of the season. Jeff then delivered his most ominous monologue of all-time, announcing that not one, not two, but THREE players would have their torches snuffed. Three divided groups within the tribe would head to tribal, each sending one person home. None of the three eliminated castaways would serve on the jury. In a classic endurance challenge, Dee, Christian and Stephenie won immunity, with Steph’s team winning the Applebee’s reward.
Back on Exile, Ozzy and Rizo bonded over their shared idol, locking in an alliance with them and Cirie. Out of nowhere over the last few episodes, Rizo has put himself in a stellar spot.
Three Separate Scrambles
With Genevieve and Aubry somehow paired up again within the divided tribes, she found herself in an unfamiliar position: on the bottom. The strategist went to work angling for a Devens departure, but she unknowingly pitched it to his top ally in Christian. The dynamic duo weighed their options, stressing the importance of making the right decision.
As Dee worked to put together a vote against Coach, Cirie jumped in and advised against it. The strategic mastermind stressed Colby’s importance and standing within the game as a massive threat.
In the challenge-winning group, Jonathan found himself as the swing vote within four women, presented with an opportunity to add the first real stamp to his resume.
First up, the group of Kamilla, Chrissy, Stephenie, Jonathan and Tiffany arrived at tribal. With Jonathan in the middle, he ultimately made a call. Kamilla was sent home, becoming the seventh person voted out and eighth person sent home on Survivor 50.
Next up, the Genevieve-Aubry beef had a chance to come to its conclusion. The Devens and Christian duo appeared to be drivers in the decision upon their reunion. Sensing danger, Genevieve played her shot in the dark… unsuccessfully. As a result, she became the eighth person voted out and ninth person sent home on Survivor 50.
Finally, the group packed with legends took the stage. Coach and Colby were on the chopping block. Cirie, Dee and Emily made a majority decision between the seasoned, honorable icon and the crafty dragonslayer. In the end, Colby was eliminated, becoming the ninth person voted out and tenth person sent home on Survivor 50.
