Following a strong second episode that featured the departure of Savannah Louie, Survivor 50 returned Wednesday night with the third installment of the show’s most anticipated season yet. Including spoilers for who was voted out, let’s break down Survivor 50 Episode 3: Did You Vote for a Swap?
Survivor 50 Episode 3 Recap
Let’s Mix It Up!
As the title of this episode suggests, Episode 3 of Survivor 50 opened with a tribe swap! At least, the three groups were informed of a potential switch, so the contestants began to strategize. Upon gathering, the swap was confirmed… after a Jeff Probst rap?
The new Vatu tribe drew interest specifically, as three players from David vs. Goliath teamed up in Christian, Angelina and Mike White. Could this put a target on the current frontrunner mad scientist? Time will tell.
Flippen’ Back and Forth
At Kalo, two players who pride themselves in playing with honor and integrity naturally came together in Joe and Colby. Coach was also there. Mr. Wade proceeded to make Chrissy cry by telling her she talked too much at their old camp. The highs and lows of the Coach experience continue. Genevieve made the rounds telling everyone she didn’t trust Aubry. Eventually, it got back to her through Tiffany. No matter where these two go, they appear aimed at an inevitable collision course.
At the new Cila camp, Devens and Cirie remained from the original core alliance. They were, however, drastically outnumbered by four original Kalo members. At Vatu, Q went to work without his vote, teaming up with Emily and Ozzy. True to her name, Emily Flipp(en)ed on Christian after being thrown off by his last-minute revelation of Aubry’s idol. She then realized her mistake and confessed it to Christian, who, understandably, flipped out. No pun intended. Plenty of chaos within that new collection of characters.

Cila Survives!
At the immunity (and reward) challenge, Kamilla gave Cila an early lead thanks to her seamless instructions. She maintained that lead in the puzzle section of the challenge and finished the job, earning Cila their first immunity win of the season.
Christian, unfortunately, could not follow suit, and Vatu was met with the impending prospects of tribal council after Chrissy and Kalo finished second. Three straight tribals for the former Cila member, not exactly the ideal start to the game despite his individual accomplishments.
Q’s loss of a vote and the David vs. Goliath ties created immediate tension when Vatu landed back on the beach. Mike threw out plans to take out Q, while Ozzy’s sights were set on Angelina. Meanwhile, Q pulled his classic chaotic tactics, declaring that he had an extra vote and asking Mike to vote for him. To some, this would seem absurd, but it’s just another day in the outdoors office for Q.
Heading into tribal council, plenty of possible paths had been floated. Ultimately, Q Burdette was voted out, becoming the fourth person to depart Survivor 50.
