DraftKings is updating F1 DFS scoring in 2026. These changes will make it more challenging for two drivers to get the same exact score, which will promote more lineup variation.
The ultimate goal of these updates: Bigger payouts for DraftKings DFS players who create the optimal lineup.
Let’s get right into the changes:
Finishing Position Scoring
Previously, DraftKings’ F1 DFS scoring mirrored the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) system, in which F1 awards championship points to the top 10 finishers.
Now, drivers who finish outside the top 10 will also receive points in DraftKings F1 DFS. This has been done, in part, to accommodate for the new 22-car grid with Cadillac entering the mix.
Place Differential Scoring
The old DraftKings F1 DFS scoring system awarded points based on place differential as part of a bracketed system.
With the new DFS scoring, place differential scoring will be on a 1-to-1 system. For example, one position gained versus starting position equals one point gained (+1 point). Similarly, one position lost versus starting position equals one point lost (-1 point).
Lap Leader Scoring
Previously, each lap led was worth +0.1 fantasy point in DraftKings F1 DFS.
Under the new DraftKings F1 DFS scoring system, each lap led will be worth +0.25 fantasy points.
