Five games make up Saturday’s featured NBA DFS slate, and many teams are on either the front or back half of a back-to-back set of contests. While there are definitely some superstars in smash spots to build around, there are also a few excellent bargain plays to consider, who come with a low salary but bring a high ceiling. Let’s take a look at three values to target tonight for your fantasy basketball lineups.
Set your DraftKings fantasy basketball lineups here: NBA $200K Fadeaway [$50K to 1st]
SF/PF Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Memphis Grizzlies at MIA ($3,600)
The Grizzlies are missing multiple key contributors all across their rotation, and they’ll be a pace-up spot against the Heat, who play at the fastest pace in the NBA. With more possessions and chances to produce, Memphis is definitely a top option for value options, especially in the frontcourt.
After missing Friday’s game, Ty Jerome ($5,800) and Scotty Pippen Jr. ($4,600) will play on Saturday, but Santi Aldama (knee) and Cedric Coward (knee) remain out, leaving plenty of playing time for Prosper if the team chooses to use another of his games of eligibility on his two-way contract. Prosper isn’t on the injury report, so he’ll likely be available, but it’s worth double-checking to be sure before tip-off.
O-Max stepped up with a big game in Friday’s contest, playing 30 minutes off the bench and scoring 23 points to go with five rebounds, one assist, one block and two steals for 35.2 fantasy points. He has scored at least 13 points and produced over 23 fantasy points in each of his last four games and brings good upside in a favorable matchup against Miami.
If Prosper is out, Taylor Hendricks ($4,000) is a relatively similarly priced pivot. If Kyle Anderson (knee, questionable) is out, Lawson Lovering ($3,000) would also be worth a look at the minimum salary. For more Grizzlies options, check them out as one of my top stacks in the link below.
PG Kasparas Jakucionis, Miami Heat vs. MEM ($3,900)
The Heat are also finishing a back-to-back on the other side of the matchup, and there could be a big role for Jakucionis in a favorable matchup. Tyler Herro ($7,400; ribs) is probable but will likely remain on a minutes restriction, while Norman Powell ($7,100; illness) is also probable while battling an illness. Point guard Davion Mitchell ($4,700; illness) is doubtful, though, which could open more work for Jakucionis.
Jakucionis only played 17 minutes on Friday, but he had logged at least 25 minutes and scored at least 11 points in each of his previous three games. He had 22 points in 26 minutes on his way to 43.2 fantasy points against the Wizards before the break and had 20 points and 27.2 fantasy points against the Jazz as well. If the Heat get up big early, he could help absorb some of the extra minutes from Mitchell and the rest of the options who are dealing with injury or illness on Saturday.
C Andre Drummond, Philadelphia 76ers at NOP ($4,500)
Drummond is set up to make another start in place of Joel Embiid (shin/knee), who will miss a fourth straight game. Drummond has posted three big games in his four contests in February, going over 29 fantasy points in each of the last four games in which he played over 20 minutes.
Against the Hawks on Thursday, Drummond produced 38 fantasy points with 10 points, 14 boards, three assists and two blocks. He’s averaging close to a double-double when he’s in the starting lineup, and the Pelicans won’t have Yves Missi for a second straight game, leaving them a little undersized in the frontcourt to deal with Drummond down low.
His rebounds and non-scoring numbers are enough to give him a high floor, and if he gets 10+ points as well, he has a good chance at being a top value play under $5,000.
